** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

The only game I've seen recently that Fabregas has played well in was the Spurs 3-3 but that's also the first game in ages that VDV has played well in also so probably more to do with the fixture.

Other than that he was poor against Bolton

You have got to be kidding me. Fabregas had a really top game vs Bolton IMO, a constant threat, great use of the ball, dangerous runs forward, usual good link work with RvP, in fact aside from possibly Cahill I would say he was the best player on the pitch. I'd say Bolton was arguably his best performance this year IMO.

edit: Wouldn't mind seeing us take Upson on a free transfer but I'm not sure if pride might get in the way of such a move. Upson would also likely want guarentees of first team football which might be difficult if Vermaelen and Koscielny are fit.

Lukaku is only young and wouldn't be expecting to go straight into the Chelsea first team. If I was in charge at Chelsea I would work on getting Torres and Drogba to work as a pairing during preseason, with Torres joining midseason it may not have been the best environment to get things going on that front.

Well to be fair - with the amount of games the top teams play (50 - 60 competitive games during a season) , I dont see why Chelsea cant keep a couple of young strikers happy in CC, FAC and a few sub / starter apps in the EPL , while still giving Torres and /or Drogba /Anelka happy with the more "senior" games.

Surely its Malouda / Kalou who are more in danger from Sturridge's return

I would really hope Welbeck is sold though

Well it doesnt seem to be chelseas way to give youth a chance. I think the more important question would be would Sturridge be happy to go from being the main man at Bolton getting great reviews to being back on the bench and playing CC games with Chelsea?

I think its a similar situation with Welbeck in many ways. Having gone to Sunderland and done well he has probably actually gone backwards in his United career because while he was away Berbatov became the leagues top scorer and Hernandez became one of the hottest properties in football. He is further away from the first team than ever. The issue is do we sell him now on the back of being well liked by Sunderland or have him back on our bench where its quite unlikely he will get many games.

Apparently Klose's agent & wife () both visited Finch Farm this week, his agent twice!

I would honestly go mental if we signed him in the summer. 33 or 23 he is still freaking class.

The Telegraph are reporting that Utd are trying to hijack City's signing of Sanchez for £25m - havent seen it reported anywhere else and there are no quotes or anything, but I hope its true and that it comes off

you'd only get him if you figured you could put one of them through the middle on some occasions at least. Great player but it's in the Centre we need to get stronger first.

Harry Redknapp claims he will resign as Tottenham manager if the club sells any of his best players.

Spurs' chances of finishing fourth and taking the final Champions League spot for the second season in a row are in serious doubt following their 2-1 defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday.

That has led to fears that Tottenham will need to sell some of their stars to balance the books as they will miss out on a £30million by not qualifying for Europe.

Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart could all be sold but Redknapp wants to do the opposite and add to his squad.

He told the Sunday Mirror: "If you start thinking about selling your best players you might as well give up. What’s the point in carrying on? It effectively sends out all the wrong signals.

And when one player leaves the rest want to follow him straight out the door. Then you have situation where the quality of football goes into decline and you’re going backwards on the pitch.

I’m not sure the supporters would want to see a side who’s only ambition is to secure a mid-table finish in the league.

Clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool will not stand still so if the club want regular Champions League football we have to try and complete.

I accept it’s not going to be easy but you can’t let all the good work you have done go to waste.

Manchester City have spent a fortune trying secure a top four finish and I doubt they will have any hesitation doing the same this summer when the transfer window re-opens for business.

I’m not suggesting we have to compete at that level because we have a very talented squad. You just need to add two or three players to freshen things up."

Watching his post-match interview with the BBC yesterday, it sounded like a plea to Levy to not sell any key players and make money available to bring in some new faces.

Hasn't Levy already spoke about 'streamlining' Spurs' squad even before CL football was all but ruled out for next season?

I kind of agree with the last part, I don't think Spurs are a million miles away from being a top four side, they need a few better players in certain positions and well a striker and they could easily transform in to a top four side. It won't take XXXX million.

City have had to buy an entire squad, thats the reason they've spent so much, and it's still not amazing for the money they've spent. All the other top 5/6 sides could do with a big clear out and freshening up the squad a lot, hopefully will see plenty happening in the summer.

Also, I expect a lot of changes at Sheffield Wednesday, well basically because we aren't very good.

Redknapp's spent ~£40m on strikers (plus VdV (and excluding ~£15m spent on Pav)) and Spurs are still looking for a striker? How much more money will it take before they find the striker they're looking for?

IINM Spurs recorded a small loss last season and while the first 6 months of this years accounts showed a small profit, their expenses rose by ~£14m (~£28m over the year) 'primarily down to having a larger squad' (wages). Next season they're going to be down anywhere between £20-£35m in European money (depending whether they make it into the EL) but those increased expenses are still going to be there. Where's this extra money going to come from?

Good point, I know 'Arry has spent money, but I feel that they're still a few players away. They do need another Striker, they've not done it this season. Hopefully they can ship out some dead wood, i.e Keane and bring someone through or in.

Didn't know that they'd made a loss and had an increase of that much on wages :o Good 'ol 'Arry eh! ;)

£80m? No chance. If he's sold it'll be for less than half that. We won't buy him though.

Not £80m buying price but the amount it would cost to keep him with his wages. Inter currently pay him £10m a year.

United have been told that they will need £80m if they are to sign Wesley Sneijder from Internazionale (Sunday Express).

Whilst Sneijder's fee is the comparatively small £30m, the Dutch midfielder is looking to sign a five-year contract and currently earns £10m a year at Inter.

We have a surplus of midfielders. We should be getting rid of half of them.

Pienaar. Whatever possessed us to sign Pienaar I have no idea.

Kranjcar (regretfully)
Dos Santos (possibly)
Bentley
Jenas
O'Hara

Keane
Pavlyuchenko or Crouch

Gomes

If we could get rid of these and bring in replacements for the forwards and keeper, it'd be moving in the right direction. I'd have added Corluka, but Modric probably wouldn't be happy at us shipping out the other two Croats.

And if we weren't so loyal to fan favourites, Woodgate and King would probably be out the door too. Hopefully King can find some sort of coaching role.
