Well 2nd date over with, met up at 5pm yesterday, went for a meal, followed by Thor 3D in the cinema and a couple drinks and games of pool in the local pub, she came back to mine and left about 30 minutes ago

Sound advice... you *could* have a drink to calm the nerves, just be careful you don't over do it though - you want to remain sharp.
I find going for a run, or going the gym or doing some exercise is a great way of calming down - not necessarily just for dates, but for presentations at work, or when having to deal with a stressful situation.

Took 3 dates and 3 weeks of many big emails prior to the dates before we even kissed, and date 5 when the kids gloves came off.
Sound advice... you *could* have a drink to calm the nerves, just be careful you don't over do it though - you want to remain sharp.

So any tips on what to say in the first message ? I'm obviously doing something wrong as i've sent about 8 or 9 now ( Hey... Keeping my options open ) and not a single reply.
Usually just talk about what i enjoy, ideal first date, what i look for in a woman and how i like to treat a woman... Ask a little about them in return, and thats about it.

Best first message is to make a funny comment on something specific on their profile. Then ask a question. Keep it light, you're just starting a conversation.
It gets tough if you want to email someone who hasn't said much, you just need to get creative. Sometimes you can spot something in their picture to make a joke about.
You *need* to be different from all the other boring emails they get.

Yeah but ive sorta known her for 3 years, met her originally at a friends BBQ but as I was with someone then, nothing happened, this time though we are both free and single
How often do you lot usually meet with someone in the first weeks of getting to know them? I fear too much could spoil things and too little will just make it fizzle out! I'd happily see her every day if we had somewhere to go but I have no idea how she really feels as she doesn't open up.

I just had a random email (whilst surfing PoF it should be noted) that "insertnamehere" wants to meet you! How does this work? I haven't seen any buttons on anyones page to send this kind of mail. Is it Spam? She looks quite nice in her profile but its kind of generic, don't know what to message her with!

I think once or twice a week is perfect early on. Remember to give them the gift of missing you.
Can you not do a fun activity for your third date? Depends on both of your interests.... go to a gig, go karting, zoo? Anything competitive is always good for the banter. Or what about a comedy club? Get creative, don't be scared to suggest something a bit different.

Perseverance is key! How many emails would you say you've sent? What kind of content? Plenty info in your profile? Punching above your weight?
