Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Photo seems fine mate, though I'd take heed and write a shorter profile. bit more flirty but not overly flirty. You want the ladies to ask questions as well as you asking them.

You are right it is pretty long, suggestions on how to shorten it, and be flirty ? Never can do flirty all that well.

I hope so, I just don't know what time we're meant to be going though which is why I've sent her a message.

Though as you say, it could be she doesn't want to carry on talking as it might spoil conversation tommorow. I over analyse everything though.

edit - I found some red wine and playing some french electro to calm me down :D.

So what happened in the end sinny? Did you meet that girl at the zoo?

She text me last night to arrange it but she text me again this morning to say that she couldn't make it so we re-scheduled to play some Pool and go for a drink on Wednesday.

She sounded apologetic on the phone which I told her not to worry about, Glad I know now though.

I really like her, wednesday will be the 3rd date so it's going well. Never expected to find someone on the internet though, Seriously hope it lasts.

back from the speed dating. What an epic fail that was lol. 7 women 11 guys so we are waiting around for ages... 4 minutes is not enough time tbh...zero connection with any of em though it was hard to tell it was ridiculously dark...actually 2 of them were ok might tick them. Gonna see if i can blag a freebie next event because only 7 women is just not on haha

Don't think this one is going to work :(

Been talking to her for two weeks, really getting on well but then i added her to facebook and she was a bit bigger than i expected :o. And i knew she lived in southend which was about 70miles or so. Anyway i went with it and we really got on well in chat and made a date for this weekend!. However in comes the issues, i found out she lives 80 miles away which for me is nigh on 2hrs away plus tollroads. She also said she'd never move back to kent, so for a future for ourselfs I wouldn't leave all my family behind and they may be moving to margate. So her moving this way is a no go

Distance is going to be too much i think, will have to tell her

damn :eek::(

My gut feeling is that this person isn't right for you so as you say it's better to tell her it's not worth starting anything. People say that distance shouldn't be a problem for the right person but in reality it is an issue even if the person is perfect.

Thanks OP, that was my gut feeling aswell :)

I'm going on experience mate. With places like PoF giving so many options you can afford to wait a while until someone 'right' comes along. Saying that though I've been using online dating for the best part of 3 years on and off and now know I need a long break. It's one of the reasons I've deleted my PoF account. I did some sums at the weekend to see how many women I've met, how many I went on more than one date with etc and how I felt it had gone for me. Out of a large amount of dates I've met one person I clicked with perfectly, had an amazing 6 weeks together then BAM she goes all weird on me, and several I've had a connection with but not enough to take it somewhere.

I'm going old school. Real world dating!!!

Plus she was a bit bigger than you expected. :D

I HATE it when that happens. So wary of it now.

If I've been talking with someone and it's progressed to exchanging numbers I used the following to get a better idea of what they look like. Steer the emails/text towards what they're going to wear for the date so you recognise them quickly. Usually they say something like "I'm not sure" so I ask them to send a picture of what they're wearing now so I can let them know if it's OK. It's a little cheeky but said in the right way has givien me good returns :)

You're damn right it's cheeky! You tell tham that it's ok for what exactly?!

Wearing on the date.

I've quickly summised what I do when in reality it's never been taken as a cheeky (in a bad way) comment. Most of the time they laugh about it and play along. I used the same line 7 times and got 5 pictures. The two who didn't reply just said I had to wait and see, which again goes along with the playful banter.

If I were to just outright ask for a pic to make sure they're not a fatty then yes that would be wrong and very cheeky. Having a laugh with a little cheekyness is fine and usually received well.

I think he meant they looked okay on POF and then when he added her on Facebook they were bigger than he thought. Happens all too often. Bloody girls and their myspace angles.

I don't think I would meet anyone unless I'd seen a good few pictures.

Yeah I thought that was what he was refering to. I'm saying if they don't have or add you to facebook and you want to be sure before you meet them.

Facebook is awesome of getting a real idea of what they look like as 90% of the pictures are usually from nights out.

Yeah Facebook is usually where it all falls apart ha ha.

Although I reckon it could fall apart at "what are you wearing? Send me a pic" :p

I think I have the worst luck ever on POF! It's crazy how many messages I've sent..I think about 30 without A SINGLE reply!..and that's pretty much all the girls that seem nice/interesting within 5/10 mile radius, so I think I'll have to give up on POF for now, pretty damn depressing..do only good looking guys get replies or something? I would love to know why I'm not getting any reply from any girl..I know I'm quite ugly but I'm a nice guy if that counts for anything these days..
