Games you Bought and played Once

One I remember in particular was Earth 2160 - bought two copies for myself and a mate and I don't think we played more than a few hours the week we got it before moving onto other things ... just didn't live up to its billing.

Aquaria - thought it was going to be a peaceful game of exploration, not a fast paced shooter underwater.
Lure of the Temptress - convoluted for convoluted's sake - Tell Ratpouch to walk to wall and push wall.
Star Wars KOTOR - only because it keeps crashing every 30 mins... was really enjoying it :(

I have bought a few games in the past that Ive only actually played on the initial install. Anyone done similar?. Some of these games are well reviewed, yet I simply never felt the desire to continue.

Dragonage 2 -considering ive got 100+ hrs on the first this was annoying

Fallout New Vegas - Attempted it after never getting on with Fallout 3, but
thought it needed a chance, gave it an hour or so... never since.

Metro 2033 - Played for a few hours, enjoyed it a bit, but never actually been back.

Beyond Good and Evil - Think graphics were too dated for me at the time.

Op Flashpoint : Red River - I got it free.. Tried it out... its horrendous. Truely

Civ IV - Just couldnt get my head around it.

Worms Reloaded - Guess the old school appeal is gone for me :(

I noticed the other day that I have METRO 2033 installed on my computer. As I had 30mins to waste I fired it up.

Ended up sneaking out of bed yesterday at midnight after the little lady had fallen asleep to play.

Its funny had it there for months (think i got it in one of the criminally cheap steam deals) and never bothered

I once rented Rise of the Robots and felt totally ripped off. :p

+1 On the box it said 'inculdes music by Brian May' 'wow' I thought. Got around to installing the game and Brian May's contribution was all of 3 seconds!

- Crysis
- Crysis Warhead (the Crysis games were good games but don't offer much replay valu, I'm glad I only paid £11.38 for the pair of steam)
- Patorians
- ARMA 1
- Dragons Age
- Most racing games, grid, dirt 2, f1, need for speed, Test Drive unlimited

Honestly I cant think of any game that I've paid for and only played one time.

I will usually play a game at least three times if I'm unsure about it then I will make up my mind that the game is rubbish or "just not for me".

For example I bought hearts of iron 3, the game is seriously complex I thought I could handle it but it just went over my head. I still played it three or so times before I made up my mind.

I suppose I'm quite careful with the games I buy.

The first Stalker I've barely played. So clunky and irritating.

Otherwise I usually complete most things if I buy them. Whether I'll play them through again is a different question.

Arma 1 - Laughable

Op Flashpoint Dragon Rising - An insult to the Flashpoint series. Dreadful.

Spore

Dungeon Siege 2 - Try as I might I've never been able to get in to this series properly. The first one I played for a while, the sequel didn't grab me at all.

The expansions to Neverwinter Nights- Never understood the fuss over this particular series.

Bully - Bought it twice :o. Once on 360 and again recently for PC. It just doesn't have 'it'. Shame really.

CIV 5 - Two or three games. T'was quite enough. :(

Gran Turismo 5 - Well, I played it a few times, but I've learned now that one should never, ever listen to fan boys.

X3

I couldnt get through the tutorial! it just seemed to get stuck and not progress :(

I think everyone had a nightmare with X3's tutorials. There's a good, involving and rather time consuming game in there, but the learning curve is beyond vertical. :D

I'd usually at least try a demo before buying and so far it's been working fine.
HOWEVER, I used to buy and invest massive amounts of time in some MMORPGs just to quit them after first month.
