If we do sign Young I can't see us spending much more. De Gea, Young, possibly Varane. That's a good 35m-40m right there.

you'd only need to add in a CM and you'd be completely gravy for next season though, assuming you got rid of Scholes and Hargreaves off the wage bill + the usual sell a couple of youngsters to bring in 10mill or so and you've still got a pot of money available for a good signing.

Yeah a central midfielder is what I'd want on top of that. I don't know whether he sees Cleverley as a central or wide option, where has he been playing for Wigan?

out wide but he faded a bit in the 2nd part of the season, not sure if he might need an extra season, mind you i reckon he's already better than gibson so i'd be tempted to sell gibson on and get him back in and give him half hour here and there.

with Sneijder pledging future to inter,i can see fergie grabbing charlie adam, with de gea and young, surely adam around 10-15 mil has got to be worth a punt.

Indeed, all it takes is one club and a massive transfer.

Seemingly only ever effects us when we're buying though. I've said for a long time our out going sales person needs to be replaced.

we paid 8mil for bebe, and atleast we have all seen adam, and know what he is capable of and scoring 12 goals for blackpool this season is a decent ammount

Have to say I think he's a marquee WC signing. He plays in the Russian league I don't think he'll be that good in the EPL. So not sure why there's excitement about him.

And no, I'm not bitter about Arshavin before anybody contemplates saying it. :p

BLASPHEMY !

Besides, Odemwingie played in the russian league and seems to have done very well in the epl. As has a certain Vidic. And Skrtel. The league a person is in at a particular time isnt necessarily an indication that they cant cut it in the EPL. :)

Adam isn't good enough for a top side in the English Premier league. He's not "worth" the amount of money being thrown about either, but then again a players "worth" is down to who is willing to pay what in some aspects.

He'd be nothing more then back up at very best for most of the top 6/7 sides in this League and why spend so much replacing a bench player?

I didn't mean that players from the Russian leagues won't be able to step up to the EPL.

I meant in the case of Honda, there's little to say he will be ok. He's for example quite a small player compared to your examples.

Just seen that Reo-Coker has left Villa, reckon he'll be a decent signing for quite a few teams. Be interesting to see where he goes, and with Fulham in the Europa League, probably wouldn't put it past us bidding for him. Still no rumours of a new playmaker yet :(

Rumours have it that we could be interested in Reo Coker.

And Stewart Downing (!?!) as well. I guess anybody's game for the papers now that Nasri's future is unsure.

He's 6 ft tall, not particularly small :) (taller than Odemwingie)

Pedantry isn't going to work.

You understand the point I was making about players from inferior leagues not being able to step up to the EPL, and that he appears to be a WC signing. If he was really rated he'd have already moved to the right places already rather than a low club in Holland and then Russia.
