Thing is though, he actually is about as close to Stevie as it gets, im worried for Alex at times .. yeah, they'r that close.
They even got a pair of designer 3d glasses especially for the CL final .. then got hammered and lost em.
 
Looking at some of the Real Madrid comments above and that Mourhino is staying. I wouldn't be surprised if a good few Porto players were in bound. Obvious connection and unlimited funding from Real.

Mourhino likes building sides himself to an extent.

Be lucky to get any 2 of the 4 you mentioned, and one of those 2 is not going to be wesley. Go for plan B instead. Stick with no ability park, and bad ball control fletcher.

Not sure I would; stranger things have happened. Chelsea are looking to rejuvenate the squad and I don't think Roman will stand-by and let City, United and Real Madrid sign all the current big names.

We'll see what happens when the inevitable happens and Hiddink joins the club.

Sounds crazy, but its just what we expect from City, heh.

You need to stop believing everything you read on Twitter, do you really think even Man City would pay £80m for someone that is 31 and not even a goalkeeper?

Xavi wouldn't go anyway, not a chance.

It makes sense to me, I think Barca see Fabregas as a long term replacement for Xavi, would you turn down £80m for someone 31 years old?

Then there was Fergies comments after the CL final, something to the effect of "Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are all great players, they make the team special but every team comes to an end, this one might be over sooner then expected" or words to that effect. Wonder if he got whiff of a deal.

Xavi would have to move out of his family home. (not sure if he still lives there but a couple of years back he did!), so no chance :P

We've been linked with just about everybody; from Barton to Aguero. The simple truth of the matter is nobdoy has a ****ing clue who we're in for.

Regarding your opinion of those players specifically; Barton aside (who I hope is nothing more than a wind-up), they'd all be decent additions to our squad imo. My only concern would be that with Downing and Henderson, the only way we'd persuade Villa and Sunderland to sell would be paying a massively inflated fee.

We're in a difficult position this summer as with no CL football it will very difficult for us to compete with the City's, Chelsea's and Real's of this world to sign the likes of Aguero, Sanchez or any other 'marquee' players (even if we have and are willing to spend the money needed). We're competing for players a rung or 2 down the ladder. That leaves you with a choice of paying a premium for proven EPL players like Young and Downing or potentially better players like Mata but who are a slightly bigger gamble.
 
Back in January all the talk was that a deal taking Llorente to Real in the summer was all but agreed. That's gone very quiet now though.

I honestly dont think I would want him back, he made his bed, now he can lie in it. For the amount of money we would spend to bring him back I'd rather we bought two players in to strengthen other areas of the squad.
