While Cole isnt directly a Modric or VDV, it would have to be a worry for Spurs fans if he was brought in.

I cant see him leaving Liverpool and the huge contract he is on unless he is fairly sure he is going into a first XI

Sneijder rumours resurfacing with United again (apparantly he's going to California to decide his future), hope it's true but I'm not holding my breath. Still though, anywhere from £30-40 million I would consider a good signing.

Pretend? No it was on purpose. I had thought that Baz was picking up on my English in a subtle way that is common with banter on internet forums.

Are you seriously the only person to not think that such a 'perfect' error wasn't deliberate? Don't try and pretend I'm the one who's stupid when it flew right over your head, you got excited and made it into a sig for all to see lol. :p
Pretend what?

About two or three other posters laughed at the same thing... but let me guess, they were laughing 'with' you right?

I'm falling into the same trap Baz did, try and have a bit of a 'bantering' (sic?) and Greenlizard takes it seriously... but not really since everyone else is the humourless idiot apparantly.

Dont want cole. Harry seems to love these older generation players at bargain prices who have been playing in the premier league for donkeys years and are being off loaded by their clubs. Gallas, Crouch, Friedal re-signing Keane, interest in Becks, Cole, Oshea, Wes Brown the list goes on.

I know Harry is likely to be off in a year or 2 for the England job so wants quick fix signings, but as a Spurs fan I want to see us investing in young talent, which hasn't seemed to happen since Harry came in. I dont think he really knows what goes on outside of English football.

Atleast the usual Anton Ferdinand link hasn't appeared yet.

Of course not, they then joined in with it misquoting there, they're and their. They, Baz included I'm probably certain, got the ironic joke and its placement. As said above, you were the first to reply and too quickly made a new sig - have a 'whoosh', it is only you that needs it.

Note at what point I commented on it - only after you admitted above that your intentions weren't to banter but to '**** [me] off' (sic). I had presumed that everybody had understood, posts were deleted and I forgot about it.

I love the way that people get all serious when they don't have anything left to reply, sorry, banter with. :D

Oh and 'bantering' is an adjective so you can't do or have 'a bit of bantering' ....ahahah - I think you get it now. ;)

Edit - But sorry for the confusion. I'll remember to clearly mark out jokes next time just in case anybody else happens to jump the gun. :D

I think Sneijder is too expensive and United should look elsewhere.

Nasri refusing to rule out a move to United, personally I think we could do a lot better than him (not that it's going to happen anyway as Wenger has refused to sell to us)

He's expensive for a player of his age (Was it not with the Berba deal that United said they didn't want to spend millions on older players) and he's "okay" I think he's a good player.

United are better off looking elsewhere for a younger player or for someone as good if not better, but cheaper.

I can actually see Nasri going to Utd, especially if they do register interest - be a decent move for a free transfer (next season that is).

In a Hargreavesless, Scholesless, Giggs another year older Fletcher having been poor even before his illness midfield?

Yep I'd take him and be happy with him as one of the options, he's clearly a very good player. There are other options out there but there's no reason to think he wouldn't be quality.

you don't think he'd improve United's central midfield?

Although obviously whether he'd play as a traditional CM is open to debate.

For £30-40m said above it wouldn't be worth it. He'd a bit of creativity to your midfield, and as Scholes is retiring I can imagine Fergie wanting another man. I'm sure there's better out there though.

Is he worth the money? He'd be very expensive. Wouldn't he operate in a similar area of the pitch to Rooney?
