**Official Duke Nukem Forever Thread**

My friend Winston has got this game and says that SLI does not work atm
so he renamed the exe to witcher2.exe and now SLI works ;) Hope this helps someone.

oh well 3 clicks and bought off steam :) Cant wait!!!

One thing about steam that did annoy me a little was the 10% off pre-order deal. If they weren't going to sell it at £39 in the first place then its not really 10% off is it?

RPS writer is doing a live blog of his playthrough and he's only complaining about everything. luls

Because it's too 1990s it seems.

You can set up Sli settings for individual games that don't support it in the Nvidia control panel. :)

Tricking it by renaming the exe isn't required. It's easy enough to sort Sli for any indie games that never end up getting supported this way. Your also using a generic setting rather than one designed to work with another particular game/engine. :)

This game is awsome. It is a Duke Nukem game. Its pure fun so far, great weapons, good humor, filled with little extras (random interactions, comments and executions). It was never going to be a boundry pushing game in any sense, anyone who thought otherwise was deluding themselves. It looks pretty good and plays great. Glad I preordered.

Loving the reference to other gaming 'norms' like the green combat suit, red access card and the crowbar.

I forgot thsoe octobrains could throw stuff at you, one of the gits was catching my rocket and flinging it back at me for an easy kill.

im quite enjoying it at the moment tbh

graphics not the best but if you turn the post processing off it actually doesnt look bad and runs great too fps wise (running 1920x1080 ultra settings on GTX285)

Mouse seems a little bit off to me but that could just be getting used to it. It has 1 setting for sensitivity and another which says it dampens your overall speed but gives more precision? feels like mouse acceleration is in there somewhere...

Guns feel pretty solid and there are some pretty good bits (wont post any spoilers) that you do have to use your head a little. It doesnt seem to hand hold you through the game like a lot of games do it isnt always follow this follow that waypoint etc.

MP had a quick blast and it was actually pretty fun. Reminded me a little of unreal/quake, that sort of pace maybe not as quick.

He installed the Cuda drivers and all is fine now..thanks for your help :)Winston loves the game :D

Enjoying it so far, I wasn't getting my hopes up too much but it is good. It is classic Duke that we know and love :) A few parts are a little disappointing such as the overly shiny graphics and the console friendly bits, but is good overall.

The Duke bust is epic as well

You certainly have the name for it! :p

Listening to Radio 1 Newsbeat on the way home from work and they covered the DNF release. They interviewed a few "gamers" who said it wouldn't live up to standards because they didn't think it would beat Battlefield and Modern Warfare.

They really know how to pick a genuine gamer don't they, someone who knows the difference between an SP game and an MP game :p

Also another guy was saying how DNF is a completely modern game that fits in technologically.

Hah!

Anyway, off to play.

Where's the 'wit' this time around? In the old game he'd crack some amazing expertly-timed one liner now and then, with crude but funny visual references dotted about the place as you went along - Now for some reason he's resorted to grabbing turd from public toilets with his bare hands  which must directly influence his inability to hold onto more than two guns?!
