Great, my phone wont turn on now
What did you do kroot?
I installed tegrazone, just to have a look at the market, didn't download anything.
Bought Battleheart, tested it, then turned my phone off and took out the battery to apply my screen protector. Realised it didn't come with a cloth, so decided not to put it on today, put the battery back in, but get nothing. No response from the power key, can't get in to download mode, nothing, the phone is just dead

Well I have TegraZone installed, so it can't be that. You've probably already done this, but try waiting a few minutes with the battery out of the phone, then plug the charger in (still with the battery out) and try and boot the phone. Then put the battery back in and try and boot the phone again

It's for the India SGS2. Iirc KE7 is a couple of hours newer.

Power cycle it again, see what happens. You may have just caught it in a odd place for the battery animation or something silly like that. I have heard of it before on the SGS.
where would we be without helpful forums eh - someone not so clued may have taken it to a phone shop have been charged £30+ for the pleasure of 'fixing' it.

Some phones boot without the battery in if they are plugged into a charger, so thought it might reset something.

Yes guys, the XWKE7 is newer than XWKE8 but some people just don't get it when I posted it and started to talk about including tweaks at time of compilation making it a higher build number which again made no sense seeing that they had added time to include these tweaks it in XWKE7 and seems to have fixed the autobrightness in it. The newest firmware available is the SZKE7 (Hong Kong) and I'm using the kernel from that on the XEU version KE7.
XWKE8 is available on XDA thread for flashing with ODIN if you still want it. If I were you though I would flash it just yet, something newer is coming soon.

I just did the SystemUI and circle battery mods over at XDA and it seems to have gone fine (barring losing google account settings which just need to be inputted again()... I now have WIfi and 3G icons that turn green when active, and a nice circle battery icon on the right that displays colour coded battery strength, and percentage numbers.

Found my 3G problem. The power menu has a "Data Network Mode" toggle. I had it off, must have hit it by accident.
I'm being a bit thick at the minute, but where would I find the option to increase the length of time it takes before the phone is locked. Its too short.

I must have restarted the phone 20+ times. As a final thought before a hard reset I left the phone in the fridge for 5 mins. Wifi now works again.
Waiting for the phone to warm up again to see if its a permanent fix.
