  • SystemUI KE7.apk
  • Framework-res KE7 battery mod and CRT fixed.zip

Using the USB cable, put both files in a place on the phone storage where you can find it... I made a folder called APPS & MODS. Rename SystemUI KE7.apk to SystemUI.apk.

Then unzip Framework-res KE7 battery mod and CRT fixed.zip and inside you will find a couple of folders, but the important file is framework.apk.

Now you need to ditch the USB cable and use Root Explorer (make sure you enable r/w permissions at the top right, small grey button) on the phone to copy the files to the appropriate folders.

1) The modified SystemUI.apk needs to be copied and pasted into the /system/app/ folder on the phone. I recommend renaming the existing SystemUI.apk to SystemUIold.apk before doing so. Once you've done that, power off and reboot.. and voila, green connection icons.

2) The modified Framework-res.apk needs to be copied and pasted into the /system/framework/ folder on the phone. I recommend renaming the existing Framework-res.apk to Framework-resold.apk before doing so. Once you've done that, you will get force closes, this is normal. Power off and reboot.. and voila, a circle percentage battery indicator.

One side effect is that my Google account setting dissappeared... so I just had to set that up again. Also my wallpaper reverted to stock... again, easily fixed.

That's all there is to it, and it worked perfectly for me. :)

The CRT effect breaks autobrightness accuracy and also the effect itself is rolling on gliitchy graphics at present.

I CWM restored back after trying a couple of the CRT anims with battery mods etc.

I miss the CRT effect but I can wait for it on the CM7 ROM.

I noticed theres no hardware search key on the phone itself..so i was wondering what theyve used instead? i.e. when i usually load up my contacts i press the search and search for the person..how do would i go about that on the samsung (if there is a way)?

Not 100% sure what you mean?

Though if you press phone you can type the name of the person you want... I.e. for "Silver" I would type "745837"

Press and hold the menu button.

Anyone using volume control +?

I find sometimes it doesnt like saving the presets, anyone else had this problem? Any alternative apps for creating and saving profiles? I.e. silent, general, and vibrate? You would assume it would have more than silent/vibrate, esp as there are no config settings

Just a note, be careful with the SystemUI in that thread there's a few deodexed versions in there. Don't forget to set the file permissions after you've copied them over. Btw anyone fancy changing these sorts of files. If you copy over a duff file, which can look like a soft brick or FC's. Make sure debugging is on and you can restore your backups with ADB on a PC, saves on a reflash. Oh and a tip with File Explorer, if you tap the left button you can use multi-select and zip the apk+odex and name/save it as a backup to the default zip directory.

I have no idea what this means :p

Is there a way to change the sensitivity of the autobrightness?

It tends to set the screen at a brightness just slightly below what I would think is perfect, especially in direct sunlight.

It seems to be over-protective when really an hour or so difference on the battery makes no difference to me.

I have traffic counter installed on my S2 and it shows me that 12.1MB of data has been uploaded through "cell"

In settings I have "Use packet data" switched off though

Is there any other settings I need to change? I dont want to get charged for data usage as I'm limited to 500MB per month, and prefer EVERYTHING to go through wifi only. Anyone know why its using data?

I gave up using Traffic Counter, I'm sure the 3G counter is not working correctly. I had the same issue as you, so put the phone into flight mode to test and the 3G count still went up. I'm using Network Counter now, seems much more reliable.
