Reports that SAF may be considering M'Ville from Rennes (again) "instead" of Sneijder

For £15m would be a reasonable bet to make considering his age, a defensive box to box player would be a useful addition to the squad, but a lot of EPL sides seem to be chasing him (even if he leaves which isnt a certainty by any means)

Didn't DM say we should have sold at that price last season? ;)

No I didn't, I said last season we could get more than we would this season, and IF WE NAMED OUR PRICE last season, then Barca would have stumped up while they had money.

A year later, Barca with less money, Cesc with a worse season AND a recuring injury while with a year less on his contract = less money.

If we stopped the BS last year and just publically said, 40mil and he's yours, we'd have had 40mil a few days later, instead we played the Wenger has big meeting, makes lots of promises, begs a player to stay another year because "this will be our year" type rubbish, then we fail and player wants out even more.

EDIT:- I'll be honest, I'm high as hell right now(migraines + serious medication = wooo), I'm not sure if you were saying accepting 35mil last year was the right move and that I was right, or what I thought at first, that we should have accepted a low offer last year and you were having a pop at me, I have no clue, I'm only used to people having a pop at me so thats how I read it at first.

Either way, Wenger has a history of this hold on to a player for too long, through various means, and losing unhappy players a year later for a 15mil drop in value. For the record, I think Cesc is easily the best player to be on offer this transfer window, and we should get 50mil for him. Sure as with everything else, his first 5 years were the opposite, sell players right time for awesome prices and buy guys at the right time for great fee's. But for the last 6, Henry, Vieira, everyone else, he's got it completely wrong every time.

Following on from what Comolli's said, Dalglish is quoted in the Times as saying that any more signings are dependent on sales. The Times (not quotes from Dalglish) go on to say that the club are looking to sell Poulsen, Jones, Degen, Insúa and Ngog and should substantial offers be made, Meireles and Aquilani are both available too (with Aquilani most likely to leave). They also mention that Cole would also be allowed to leave however because of his wages making that difficult, the club are focusing on revitalising his career (I assume that means that rather than heavily subsadise his wages, he could still be a decent squad player).

And finally they mention that providing we can shift enough of the above, funds for at least 1 defender will be made available with Diego Godín emerging as a potential target.

I think if I were your opinions might be appear to be a hell of a lot more reasonable, alas I'm as sober as a nun hence why you're making my head hurt with all this N'Zogbia rubbish

Well i can let it go, i just think he is perhaps underrated here and some of our midfielders overrated but that is just my view.

And as for the fantasy stats, no they aremt definitive proof of a players ability etc the fact that he has so many bonus points indicates that i am not alone in thinking he put in many good performances. as for points against the top 4, well nasri didnt fare too well in that department either yet people are fighting tooth and nail for him (he is a class well above nzogbia regardless of his games vs the top four- in my view)

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich for the signature of France forward Franck Ribery.

Interesting. Nothing probably in it though. Not heard much about Ribery for a while now.

I bet Baz set that website up :p ;)

Give me a bit of credit. I know I said I'd start a fake twitter account/transfer story but if I did, I'd make it a bit more believable than that. Arsenal signing an experienced, top class player? Do me a favour, may as well predict them to win the league too :p
