IF you can keep him happy - which it looks like 90% of teams that can afford him cant!!!

He isnt good enough to make all the agro worth it , over the short time any 1 team will have him (compared to his transfer / wage demands)
Well he supposedly wasn't happy last year but still ended up top scorer in the Prem.

He won't be leaving now and Aguero is coming in so Aguero+Tev partnership next year with Balotelli and Dzeko also rotating. Unless Mancini sends Tevez to Argentina until January where he can move to Corinthians.

The wrong time? He is one of the best strikers in the world. Of course we are going to get good money from him. The majority? Bridge, Adebayor, RSC etc? we overpaid in the first place so its hardly a surprise when we will end up with nothing before next season.

I don't think anyone is going to pay £50,000,000 for Tevez sorry.

I cant see it either. He wants to be in S.America so even even if he did move to another team in Europe he is still going to be unhappy and unsettled.

Why you anyone pay this for a player that will be unsettled as soon as he arrives and till his contract runs out. Especially since they will want to tie him down to a long term contract if they pay that much

1) Joint top scorer

2) Well he certainly isnt any happier, and with Mancini's tactics its more like Aguero will start (if /when he arrives) before Tevez will

Just because the SA transfer window is finished has little to do with whether Tevez will actually leave or not, it certainly goes without question that he will get more and more disruptive (as proven on at least 2 different occasions)

The only (european) hope is probably Real Madrid - didnt they claim that the £80m spent on Ronaldo's transfer was claimed back by shirt sales within the first year? Never saw any peoof of this mind you - but a mere 1/2 that amount shouldnt be too much of a concern if true (if the board / Maureen can be convinced that is)

Yeah exactly. Pricing him at £50,000,000 means that you are limiting him to a certain amount of clubs. Realistically that sort of transfer fee is limiting him to Real, Barca and maybe AC Milan. There's no other clubs that are going to pay that amount for him and if he wants to be in South America then turning down £35,000,000 is just plain stupid.

I dont think they actually turned down the £35,000,000. I think they wanted to pay in massive instalments over a number of years and I think Man city wanted a bigger upfront payment, but yeah even negotiating over that much money for a player who doesnt want to stay in the same country, never mind the same team

LOL am I the only one sensing some keyboard rage with that post :p

Aguero should go to Madrid, especially as they want another striker. Reckon he'd end up another Tevez at Man City. Wouldn't mind seeing how he does here though!

Makes me sad seeing all this big signing activity for other clubs. :(

All spurs have managed to do is pick up a 16 year old Ivorian and an 18-y/o Barca reject. Aside from that we've offloaded another youngster and sent Caulker out on loan. What a joke this is so far. Something's got to start. But nothing is likely to happen until next week as they've been in SA.

I'm sure the supporters he'd be leaving behind at Atletico wouldn't be to happy if that happened. Saying that, Owen to Man Utd, Harry Redknapp yapping on about Adebayor today. Do footballers care anymore?

You've got no reason to moan.

The deal would have been done had Corinthians given the assurance they can pay the installments. Especially considering they were counting on tv money etc, they didnt so the deal fell through.

Why would Mancini do this?

If he was going to do this then surely he would have just accepted the bid for him instead of sending him home and not playing him

No I am too.
He would do it so he doesnt have him at the club constantly moaning and not being played.

The bid was accepted, they just didnt give the assurances City wanted.

I will be very surprised if Tevez plays for City again tbh....

Anyway, i hope we can get the Aguero deal done so he can fly to Dublin and play those few games before the CS and Premier League.

Aguero's not Spanish though so I doubt he's got the same afection for Atletico as say Torres or De Gea so I don't think he'd care whatsoever joining Real. From what I've heard over the past 24 hours though is that Jose wants a striker more like Drogba, I did read that Adebayor was close to making a move permanetly to Real but Arry's comments today suggests maybe it's not a done deal.
