Why rant at me, i have clearly provided a justification to rebuke your point without having to try to insult your fanboy skills. Stick to the topic i am trying to - except i keep getting sidetracked by non factual non informative posts like yours.

Are you seriiously telling me that Ashley Young is worth near 20 million in the last season of his contract with no other major clubs circling (at least publically)? Yet Nasri is not, despite the top 4 clubs in england wanting him? Yes or No?

Its just dig after dig after dig about everything to do with the club.

Nasri is a fine player, im not saying what his value is but the price for ASHLEY Young in the current climate is fairly competitive compared to other English players.

What "Fanboy" skills? My ability to look at the trophies won in recent years and conclude we are a fine team? My ability to look at the managers record and conclude that more often than not he deliver the goods? Yes, "Fanboy" indeed.

God help you if you supported a bad team, or even a good team going through a bad patch.

There you go it's still on :D:D:D:D

Boundless optimism! I would think that we have a few players that we want but ferguson is probably reasonably happy that we have strengthened more than any of our title competitors and there is always the january window if needs be.

As he says, there is still a while to go in the window and these things take time. Ferguson seems to tie things up quite quickly one he puts his mind to it, maybe because he makes sure a deal is mostly done before letting slip. None of the speculation about players has really come from him.

I am quietly confident that he knows what he is doing at any rate.

I just think that we were a bit rash in jumping in so quickly for young thats all, given who else was available potentially but never mind. At his price i hope he can deliver next season off the top ma or on the wing.

I think we learnt after losing Ronaldinho when he was at PSG that taking so much time in a transfer with other clubs around is just unecessary baiting..

I genuinely believe that Ashley Young will be great for us but I can't think of anyone else we could have got for that sort of money. There were various names going around but they were either astronomically expensive or never likely to choose us over a top spanish side.

Vucinic's agent talking a little truth - or just trying to entice other clubs into bidding officially?

As already stated by others - a striker is probably the last thing Utd need , but it could also be argued that oportunities could really open up in Aug to sell a couple if required too (maybe not for too much money however)

Will Fergie give Macheda another chance, will they allow Berba to run down his contract (its unusual to let it get this close to beinga free agent for a "major " player, and SAF /Gill keep on talking about "sell on value")? Welbeck is versatile (useful as a wide player as well as centrally) and shouldnt be too demanding in regards to sub appearances instead of starts / being in CC squad rather than automatic choice

Probably just hot air (regarding Vucinic) ........

Exclusive interview with David Gill just released:

Did you always know this summer would be a busy one?
Yeah, we knew that. Edwin made it known that last season would be his last so we had planned for a new goalkeeper well in advance. With the others [new arrivals Phil Jones and Ashley Young], the opportunities came along and we were comfortable with that. So we’ve made three signings. We're looking at one more player to bring in. Nothing’s happening – nothing imminent – on that at the moment, but we’ll see what happens when we get home. There’ll still be 31 days of the transfer window to see if anything develops. But I’m not working on anything at the moment, in that respect.

If you do end up signing somebody could it go right up to the deadline?
Possibly. We’ve been looking at a particular position and two or three players in that position, but nothing’s imminent at the moment. The important point to understand, and Alex has made it clear, is that we need someone who’s going to improve the quality of the squad. We’ve got a great squad and to get into that squad you need to be a world-class player. There’s no point, if you can’t get the players you want, in buying someone for the sake of buying someone. But you never know – there’s often movement in August. I’m not sitting here saying I’m working on anything specific because I’m not, but that situation could change quickly when we get back to Carrington.

phew, one more, have to admit i was getting a little worried about going into the new season with the options that we have. :D

Great signing for us..

Will likely need a month like Silva needed but when he is firing a partnership with Dzeko/Balotelli could be devastating!

Probably would need Dzeko and Balotelli to be firing as well to get that excited.....I haven't seen anything greater than fairly average from either of them, particularly Dzeko.

Aguero will be excellent though.

I think it's unfair to judge them on last year's performances, tbh. Dzeko only had half a season (look at how dubious Evra and Vidic look, after being signed in January... then how well they turned out to be after that), whilst Balotelli had a number of injuries which obviously disrupted his first season.

Balotelli is an idiot and will never ever be good enough for a top 4 team, the whole back heel against LA Galaxy proved that, I had huge hopes for him, but he just seems to get worse and worse. He is clearly capable but lets himself down with his attitude, mentality and lack of self control.

It's been a year and he still hasn't learned his lesson, city expected big things from him and he hasn't delivered yet still tries to show off. The whole bib thing was ridiculous too, honestly a 10 year old can put a bib on, yet he clearly struggled and got angry and disrespectful to a staff member trying to help him.

If i was his agent/manager i would give him a good dressing down and ridicule him in front of the whole team, so he knows his place and what is expected from him. If he doesn't change I hope they show him the door.

Such a waste.

The Tevez situation is a shame really, I would really loved to have seen what Tevez plus Aguero could do.

Given Liverpool no hope of finishing in the top 4 would be one thing :p

Seriously those chasing clubs (Liverpool, Spurs) best chance of finishing in the top 4 is City going crap should Tevez leave

Indeed, if nasri and fab go I'd fancy our chances of getting in front of them more than our chances of getting in front of city.

Cant see them losing both, probably the reason why Wenger is willing to let Nasri go on a free next summer as oppose to selling him this year, because he knows he'll have to do without Csec as it is.

Or if Torres carries on being rubbish, and Drogba runs off to the African Cup of Nations... leaving Chelsea to have a terrible dip in form.

Chelsea are like United though they'll always be in the top 4 and even if Torres does continue to be crap and Drogba does go missing they've still got Anelka, Sturridge and maybe even Lukaku as options for up front

Wilshere can fill the cesc shaped void in our club if he does leave, he may not be as good but he's better than Nasri in that position. I couldn't care less about what nasri does. In fact I'd rather he leaves now and we invest the £20mil in a better player.
