Reports on the web saying we have signed Nacho the U18 kid.(might of been posted but too lazy to look back through the thread :p)

Nothing official yet but it sounds like its all but done. Same story with the American/Bulgarian lad that was also on trial, Villyan, and some young Mexican striker, Bueno.

Yeah not seen any of them as of yet but Bueno seems to be the most hyped up out of them all.

Saw Villyan and Nacho play a couple of friendlies for the youth side and they both stood out, Nacho in particular. Villyan's a centre forward and scored 5(?) goals in the 2 games and Nacho played just behind him and scored 3 (might have been 4) goals in the 2 games and looked like creating or scoring everytime he got the ball.

Is there ANYTHING happening on the Spurs front at all? :(

Can't see much happening until we get rid of the deadwood, such as Keane, Bently, Jenas etc. Dont think Levy is short of a pound, but its wages more than anything, and he defianlty runs a tight ship. The thing is most of them players would only be looking at playing at a club lower down the league, so they will have to take a wage cut to play or sit on the bench raking it in.

Badly need a striker though, been linked to Leandro Damião who looks decent in the friendly I watched, and far better than what we have at the moment.

Bentley or Jenas would be good for any bottom 10 club IMO. It's getting them to lower their wage demands that would be the problem I suppose.

Yup - apparently Fulham's deal for Bentley was scuppered because of his wages. Linked with Jenas this season too, but apparently he's on £80k/week?

Midfielder Samir Nasri, out of contract in July 2012 and heavily linked with a move from Arsenal this summer, has told the Gunners he will stay for this season.
Full story: Daily Star

If this is true then I say get rid of him now. So basically his plan is to play first team football and attract s a big team and then get loads of money for a sign on?

How kind of him to stay for another season. I rate him as a player but if this is true then not so much as a person. Sign or leave should be Wengers conditions.

Its a bit of both I think, Wenger absolutely retardedly seems to think replacing him next year with no money will be a better option than replacing him this year, with an extra 20mil.

Nasri wants money and staying an extra season probably means higher wages and bigger signing on bonus, ok, he'll lose part of the supposedly 3mil increase we were going to give him, but considering he's being supposedly offered 2-3 mil above that from City anyway what does he care.

Like I said, if he was refusing a 80k a week deal and we could only get 5mil for him, but 20mil for one of our worst performers in preseason, its a freaking steal for us.

surely wenger is thinking he can persuade nasri to stay? i don't see he would have the backing of the board to allow him to go for free next summer otherwise?

Inter chief exec Ernesto Paolillo said:
"Are Manchester United still after Sneijder? We haven't seen or heard from anyone; that's a story I've heard from you. Is Wesley definitely not for sale? I don't think there's anything that can't be sold, it all depends on the price. You never say no if a big opportunity comes your way, but it does have to be a real opportunity."

They're pretty much asking us to bid for him DO IT!!!!

We don't know if we have been offered £20m for him or if anyone has offered anything for him. It's hard to say whether Wenger is being stupid or not. Personally if they offered £20m then I wouldn't risk it and sell him.

But if someone has only offered £5-8m, especially if it was one of our main rivals for a CL spot then I would risk holding onto him and him signing a new contract.

Either way Wenger needs his replacement in place for when he does leave and getting someone in now would give them 12 months to adapt if they are foreign. maybe he thinks Ramsey and Wilshere will be ready for a pairing.

Nothing concrete in it though. No quotes from either manager or club.

"However, Sky Sports News’ Bryan Swanson reported earlier this afternoon that despite a whole host of interest from England’s ‘top three’, Arsenal have yet to receive a ‘formal offer’ for the former Marseille man."

I think Wenger or someone on the board also mentioned that no one had made any actual offers yet.

Im not so sure. He has never really stood out for me as a player worth that much. Id rather have lavezzi or hamsik from Napoli instead. Id probably take lavezzi over aguerro as well. he's like a mini tevez in some respects, notably work ethic.

What ever happened to cavenaghi the other Argentine who promised much at a similar time to tevez and saviola.

Cavani is Uruguyan

he is also a lot better than Aguero and better than Lavezzi.

He has been on the form of his life this past season scoring hat tricks for fun in a fairly poor to mediocre side.

26 goals in 35 games.

he also just signed a new 5 year contract and is only 24 years old. he can score any type of goal, headers included.

if aguero is costing £35m i would say Cavani is easily worth £50m, but to napoli he is most likely worth £75m (basically irreplaceable). if he continues scoring next season i can see manchester city and real madrid fighting for him. nobody else could afford him tbh. depends on whether or not he had a lucky season or not. but he seems to be loyal to Napoli and likes playing there.

He means Fernando Cavenaghi?
Who was incredible at River Plate before moving to Europe.
He did ok in Europe but has now moved back to River Plate.

Cavani certainly looked quality last year but the reason no one came in for him was because that is the first time he has ever scored that many and so is a bit of a risk at the price Napoli would have wanted.
If he does it again then i am sure everyone will be in for him.
