Why don't you get just get an entire second-hand PC then?? There are some good deals to be had on secondhand Core i5 and Core i7 quad cores and socket 1155 motherboards!

Having used the HD2000 it is average. The HD3000 is a bit better but not that great.

If gaming isn't something you're going to be doing then you're better off with Sandy Bridge. And at that point there's no need to spring for the Core i3-2105, the standard 2100 will do just fine.

Like I said the HD2000 is rubbish having used one.

Anyway,you seem to like Bit-tech very much for reviews and they actually rate the A8-3850 higher(82%) when compared to the Core i3 2100(72%) which they reviewed after it.

Have done, look at my trust, bought a few 9800gt in my time even a GTX295.

The sellers are always to happy to help if a manufacturer only wants to deal with the original purchaser

But fortunately most only need a copy of the invoice or the card to be registered

So like I mentioned before get a Core i5 or Core i7 then??

Because theres more future proofing with socket1155 Ivybridge?

Thats if Ivy Bridge will actually work in older chipsets Perhaps you need to look at the history of socket 775 to see this!

Still why not get secondhand socket 1155 parts??

Is it an official statement or a "leak" - just like all the other "leaks" with other CPUs and GPUS??

Funnily enough the slides don't mention the H67,P67 or Z68.The slides mention that the Q65,Q67 and B65 chipset will not work with Ivy Bridge but the only noise has been about the Z68 being compatible.

At the bottom of each slide:
"All dates and plans are subject to change without notice"

Where is the official Intel statement especially concerning the compatibility for all the six series chipsets?? Until that is released in a statement it is all fud. Both Intel and AMD are guilty of this. Again lets go back to socket 775 and socket AM3.

So why bottleneck your system with a slower cpu? Just get the sandy bridge.

If you start a new spec me thread in general hardware then we can ensure you get the best bang for your buck.

I dont see the confusion... You want the best processor on a budget you've been spec'd the i3 2100, You say(if you get llano) You may get a separate graphics card if you decide to game a lot, why not give the i3 the same treatment.

Seems like a no brainer to me

I'd pick the Phenom II X4 over an i3 dual core CPU every time. For £85 the 955 Phenom II is a very good purchase. I'm not quite sure why you'd want a dual core CPU these days?
