You are quoting Youngs stats in a struggling team compared with Nanis in a team consistantly winning.

I see Young doing a Dwight Yorke in terms of rising to the challenge of playing for a bigger team.

I think Man Citys main rivals are their own wage bills. Won't take much for a player to come into some form and then look around and see he is getting paid £150k less than other players.

Too early to say who is going to be challenging before the season kicks off.

You haven't seen all the players Wenger is bringing in yet :p

Don't. please. right Yorke got 17 goals in the league twice in a row for villa. his best 2 for united were 18 and 20. Although he played a few games less for utd.

If Charlie adam does what you want young to do, i think we could be in at risk of ripping up the record books? And what is.nzogbia capable of now released from the shackles of wigan. lets be realistic villa are not a relegation no man team...

More rehashed quotes from when he first joined.

Had he not scored yesterday and played well these quotes would not have come out.

The media still can't accept that we are actually capable of doing well this year and so with every good performance they have to put a downer on it.

Much like after the USA tour a few weeks ago there was reports that Kompany, Richards and De Jong are all unhappy with their lower wages...no quotes or anything just the usual rubbish that now surrounds us.
 
I'm a Villa fan and I personally hated Dwight Yorke with a passion - yes, he was very gifted, but he was too adroit the majority of the time and I for one was delighted when he buggered off to Man Utd for a then huge fee.

Im sure i dont really need to labour the clear point im making but what im saying with the Yorke example he "stepped up" when he signed for us. You can quote goal totals but the fact is he was playing for us against the top teams in Europe and ended up winning the treble. Some players manage the step up of a bigger environment and some dont. Its not always about ability either.

I just think that Young COULD do that and step up. We'll soon find out i guess. I would imagine that Nani will be involved in and score a lot more goals in our team that Young would in the Villa team last season simply because we created so many more chances and scored more goals than Villa did when they were struggling.

Oh, Valencia has signed a new 4 year contract now too.

Par for the course with the media. After the game with Inter, the media spoke to sneijder about a possible transfer. He gave what most would consider a fair response of "who knows what will happen, I can't predict the future, I do what I am told etc etc" which then became "I am probably going to be moving to united soon".

News reporting has become nothing more than spin and fabrication.
 
Placeholder you cant really labour a point because factually its pretty unsubstantiatable. He was great for villa and weighed in. Ashley young has never weighed in with anything meaningful. neither has valencia. unless you count 10 in 68 or 6 in 44 as being good.

Young has been okay. not exactly putting the world on fire. Again i maintain the stance that for the money,and considering his previous returns and contract situation - young was an awful purchase.

Aguero is a very good player , but he has to effectively replace Tevez's goal tally (can you really see Tevez staying - and not being a disruptive influence?)

It will take time to get him working well with the team and getting used to playing in horrible weather on a monday night mid winter etc

Easily top 4 - but I dont think Chelsea or Utd are so easily .....distracted from 1st/2nd

Chelsea will buy a couple of really big players in Aug Im sure
 
Schoolboy error was repeatedly playing bellion (24 appearances). signing then playing liam miller.
Buying a third right footed winger with no real numbers to back him up or reason why he can usurp valencia let alone Nani and the fee involved when we need a left winger..incredible.
 
They have my cv. They know how to.contact me. they told me they aren't looking for a manager who kicks boots into the faces of our most valuable players, or drops our top score for the cl final and locks him in the dressing room. i said ok but no promises.

you have to give youth a chance - sometimes they progress at different rates (look at Fletcher, may not be a world beater but still won a fair amount of games for Utd, a few years ago he would have been as villified as Gibson is today)

His transfer release expired also so now Valencia can negotiate more money?
