Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

Wow... the Jungle sounds like fun. Hornets shooting poisoned stingers? Hellstone spawns Lava when its mined? Oh good. You must need masochistic tendencies to play the endgame now :p

The description of 'Hardcore' sounds like someone trolling :D

Think a lot of people intended to start a new character as the plan is make a new world for new characters only (so it would be nice if people didn't join on existing characters...). Probably be a seperate world for existing characters but I can't see many being on it for now.
 
Im gonna start a new character on hardcore!

Just kidding, no im not. Losing all my stuff when I die is far too bad and I hate it, permadeath is even worse.
 
I might play on medium core, but only if you keep your equipped weapons/armor/trinkets. It says all items destroyed, hopefully equipped ones don't count, otherwise there is little difference between medium and hard, except that you won't lose the health/mana that you've collected if you play medium.
 
Main server I'm bothered about is one for new chars only. I can set up one for existing chars if a couple (more than one) people ask for it.

I'll need one or two active players that are mature/trustworthy to give admin to, too (once tmod is updated to work)

It says all items dropped, not destroyed. Which I presume means every item you're carrying, including armour, accessories and hotkey items.

Its gonna be a little 'Diablo' esque in that regard. You die and your entire inventory drops where you were killed (ok your entire inventory doesn't drop on D2 but you hardly carry spare powerful gear with you and not in storage) so you've gotta get back to your corpse before you log off. Of course if you die over lava.... well you're ****ed :p

Think I'll stick with softcore tbh. All items being dropped I could just about handle as it would be a challenge getting back but all it would take is 1 wrong move and everything you have could end up gone and you're back to square 1.

Will there be a new login/password or is it going to be the same as before? What can you actually do as admin anyway? Is it basically limited to kick/ban and thats about it?

I'm with you on this, I die too frequently (stupidly mostly!) to be loosing all my stuff. I'd probably stay in my house, frightened of everything.

Its not the dying and having to get back thats the issue (well except Hell with the new lethal Hellstone... or the Jungle with the new lethal Hornets... or anywhere outside my house with the new potion mechanics...) its just that if everything falls in say, lava, you're stuffed ><
 
FrenchTart depending on the time the patch is released, please put the new server up tonight so we all join at generally the same time :D

Depending on what pluggins you use with Tmod, you can do quite a bit. You can change the time of day, start a goblin invasion or a bloodmoon, change the spawn rate of mobs, increase the maximum number of spawned mobs (goblin invasion with high mob count and spawn rate is awesome!), kick/ban, summon items/npc's/bosses, change the default spawn point, disable/enable pvp/explosives and various other things, there was also a jail function but I think that has some problems.

I'd love to join a new char server, so count me in for that. I'm familiar with Tmod if you trust me as an admin, though I'm not entirely sure what you want an admin for. For the next couple of weeks I'll probably be on the OcUK server most of the day, until I start college.

E: I'm pretty sure that there is indeed a function to teleport a person at a chosen destination Evilsod/FrenchTart, though I have not tried it.
