Sorry he is not a proven keeper. He is a prospect. It is that simple, i even found the dictionary definition for you stating what proven means.

The telegraph even posted a headline: "Manchester City v Manchester United: Jury is out on David de Gea after conceding two goals"

I think the terms 'proven' and 'jury still out' are mutually exclusive. A proven goalie doesnt say that he needs to learn hard and fast either.

Then there are the deluded ones who post things such as, 'De Gea is proven', but that 'Sanchez is unproven' - we had 3 pages of someone arguing with me that Sanchez wasnt even going to Barca - but i knew he would so why even waste my time with that? Or that our signings have put us closer to Barcelona, due to the quality of ours being higher than theirs (or the opposite of that). One corker was that Skelenburg would cost as much, or near as much as De Gea? I mean where do people pull this from?

You can search back, i also said that Sneijder wasnt coming, he could the deal was closer than i thought so i was wrong in a way. But i dont think he will now, it's too late.

If the jury is out on De Gea, then poor old Joe Hart (who was at fault for the first city goal, and dived the wrong way for both of the Nani goals) must be being due to be sentenced to death surely?

Daily Mail writer was saying De Gea has to go. Read it in the paper this morning... then on the next page, Peter was defending De Gea and said to give him time to adjust to the English game.

He better adjust quickly.

Not to mention De Gea has played almost as many first team games as Hart. :p But obviously you're only good once you've played in the PL.

Thats not how it works, Nani only slowed down because the keeper came out.. read your keeper text book, if you stay on your line there Nani slots it into either corner with hart helpless due to the angles.

De Gea will be fine chaps, it's something they'll work on in training a lot. They know what areas he's raw at, where he conceded last year in La Liga etc and they'll sort it out. He'll be class don't you worry your little heads.

I don't think you could find a keeper with better distribution than him, some of his goal kicks on Sunday were ridiculous.

All this based on a single game for the community shield  Is this a joke im missing or something.

Absolultey ridiculous.....

I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say, bitter?

Vela has always looked excellent when he's played, Wenger just won't play him, Ryo in terms of a winger, looks to be the only natural winger at the club, I'd think he'd at least get a chance this year, but its Wenger, so I have no idea if he'll get a chance at all.

Assuming we're giving Vela 40k a week, why, he won't play him, he just about plays in preseason, whats the point. Arshavin was brilliant, then randomly got dropped and was barely getting starts towards the end of the season.

Really you have no idea what I'm trying to say? I doubt anyone else would fail to understand the comment.

The thing with Vela is that he does have good games but normally in the cup run. Then he gets put onto the bench and never seems to perform as well.

As for Arshavin, he got dropped because he was not playing brilliantly. Towards the end I remember him actually seeing the subs board come up and he actually started to come off when it wasn't even him coming off. That is the sort of frame of mind he was in. He knew he was doing bad.

That is taking rose tinted glasses to the extreme. It is almost funny how you **** of Wenger for having his favourites yet you do exactly the same with yours. Eboue, Bendtner, Clichy, Arshavin, Vela etc. These players can do little wrong in your eyes. They do say people with things in common rarely get along.

I would bet Wenger knows 100 times more about each of these players than you do. You are grading Wenger in a football manager style (Seriously you might get more fun out of that game than in real life football :p) with stats and favourites. That doesn't always work in real life.

In Football Manager you can get someone like Basingstoke to world domination in ten years time. Doesn't mean it will happen in real life.
