** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

But hey, worst ever starts to seasons don't usually bode well for managers... and unlike the previous dreary years of 'almost but not quite' there's now a tashed American lurking in the background. Maybe David Dein saw this groundhog fail day thing coming a few years back (rumours the board care more about lining their pockets than investing in the club) and helped get Stan on his way to taking over Arsenal because he'd be prepared to swing the axe where nobody would before.

LOLCONSPIRACYTHEORY

In reality I can't see how Arsene can remain manager if we keep going backwards. How incredibly frustrating to support the only team that could beat both Champion's League finalists last year in individual games but end up trophyless, losing a final to a team that went on to get relegated. Only Arsenal...

I have to say I feel sorry for you lot. If this loyalty payment stuff is true you may only end up getting £26m for him.

A £50m player in todays market with 4(?) years still left on his deal has put Arsenal in a situation where they've had to sell him for 60% of his true value and still gets £4m for his 'loyalty'? I'm starting to think we'd be better off doing away with transfer fees and adopting the American system. That will **** over the lower league clubs whose survival is dependent on them nurturing players and selling them on to bigger clubs though :/

I also feel a bit sorry for Arsenal. This season could turn out to be a bit of a disaster for them. Especially given how easily some of their players get injured.

Going by what a few Arsenal fans on here are saying, Wenger's position is far from secure. If you're the Arsenal board, do you give Wenger the Fabregas (and Nasri) money to reinvest in the squad with the possibility that he won't be manager in the not too distant future?

If Wenger spends then that's got to be a sign that his position is a lot safer than some Arsenal fans have suggested in the sack race thread imo.

Nickg reckoned Young would get double/triple the amount of goals and assists than Nani :o

Or something like that

My mistake it was actually atpbx that reckons Young will get more goals and assists than Nani

For once I'll agree with Nickg on this one

Oh and on the Anderson one, he cost £19m

It's widely believed that Keane was on £60,000 a week, making him one of Spurs' top earners. Glad to see us get rid of some of the deadwood.

Next up Bentley? I bloody hope so. :p

I'd imagine he's going to be one of many tbh especially when you consider some of the names at City that have just been forgotten about; Adebayor, Bellamy, Santa-Cruz, Bridge etc

Bellamy to Spurs might be one that I could see happening late in the window
