Off topic but i'll ask it anyway. If Man City do get found guilty of trying to bypass the fair play rules.. what powers do UEFA have, in terms of punishment?
None yet, they've made a relative list of rules but without saying how they will quantify what fair play is, and most importantly the penalties/punishments are basically undecided at the moment.
While City might break fair play rules, will it matter if say, Utd, Chelsea, City, Barca, Malaga(I'm assuming soon), Real, Inter and 20 other teams in the champs league all break the debt rules by simply having too much debt? IE if they decide not to punish most of the teams I think they'll find it hard to punish City alone. Likewise, once one team tests the water with a ridiculous deal like they've done, if everyone else does a similar deal, firstly everyone would have cheated at worst and again, would they kick everyone out. Secondly, if everyone gets a similar stupid deal setup from a super rich new board member........ won't it actually become fair market value by way of, it being the new standard deal value. Meh.
I think it will end up having been a big bluff, with some fancy words, and weak ass punishments, like pay 10mil extra to enter the champs league, and Uefa's pockets get lined.
Do Man City really need Nasri, or is it just another player they are buying for the sake of it? :/
Yes and no, I don't really rate Nasri(unlike a LOT of Arsenal fans who are all suddenly spouting the same reasons I said Nasri wasn't very good WELL before he was leaving). Is he better than Milner, SWP, Johnson, Barry, yes. Toure, Silva, Aguero, Tevez, he's not, Dzeko/Balotelli, not sure, maybe, maybe not.
IF Tevez stays they'll have a lot of cover, if Tevez does go, Aguero/Dzeko/Silva becomes their forward three, you've only really got Johnson as half decent cover on the wings so I think Nasri could get a lot of games in rotation, a lot of the two domestic cups, and I can see City going a long way in both of them, and a lot of league games both before and after Champs league games, and of course, if say Silva gets injured he could get a lot more games.
Theres nothing wrong with improving your back up, but on 150k+ a week, he'd be very expensive backup.
I doubt he will get anywhere close to £200k. But as long as he goes for £25m I don't mind what he gets paid. More the better in my eyes as it will just cost them.
Same, but I very much doubt 200k a week, I think it will actually be closer to the 120-130k a week mark and a nice signing bonus. I think Utd's rumoured interest helped bump the fee up, but wages, I don't think Balotelli, Milner, Barry are on anywhere near that level of obscene wages. The guys getting truly silly wages there are the guys who were HUGE names before joining City, Toure, Aguero, Tevez since he's been there, I'm not even sure Silva is on anything over 150k a week, maybe less.
I don't really care, he's not that great but City have a real chance at titles, and a better wage, why wouldn't he go. Nasri's not good enough for first team if we really want to compete, even if we don't want to compete, Nasri simply isn't worth us spending more than 60k a week on, I'd keep him on that wage, as rotation.
