I don't believe either of the clauses have been officially confirmed but that's what is being reported; Arsenal get 50% of any fee if Barca sell him and they have a buy back clause.

Reportedly Arsenal have a seperate buy back clause in his deal (not sure whether it's for 50% of what Barca paid though).

I seriously doubt there's any planned return though. I guess it's just Arsenal making sure they have first dibs on him if things don't work out at Barca.

£35mill is our buy back price if we should want him back from what i have heard and read...the problem is whilst Wenger is still at Arsenal, we wont and will not spend more than £15mill for a player, £15mill being the highest we paid for Arshavin and hes been pretty pants for £15mill.

So either way, Barca keep Fabregas for a very long time well until a time where hes not as good as he is.

What are you on about, why would losing loads up to xmas then being fired be useful, a new manager comes in to a midtable team no one wants to join?

of.

You complain about others misquoting you yet you are the worst for it. Where did I say it would be USEFUL to lose loads of games up to Christmas and then get fired? Maybe you should re-read it.

You think getting a new manager in will solve all our problems. You are assuming they would have an immediate effect on the team. There is no way they are going to sack a manager who gives them CL football without spending much. So no matter what you think Wenger would have until Christmas at the very latest. UNLESS he lost game after game.

Barring any huge disasters (which 99% of Arsenal fans won't have experienced, I'm talking elimination from Europe at an early stage and relegation zone) I can't see him getting sacked midseason, if we fail to qualify for the CL then he will be allowed to go gracefully in the summer.

Regardless of whether people think that would be too late or not, that's how I would see it going down.

It seems to me that the board are happy for Wenger to stay provided he can maintain our participation in the Champions League. I really don't think they care about winning the league, as long as Wenger keeps that Euro cash coming in they don't seem particularly bothered.

Running things as a business seems to be a double edged sword.

You know how I said David Silva was about 3.5 times better than Nasri? I'm too drunk to even begin contemplating how many times better Wesley Sneijder is.

Basically, it's a lot.

January 2009: Bullard signs for Hull

What say you now?!
Haha, I dread to think what I said about then. All the Hull City fans I know are so glad to see the back of him. From what the rumours are, the guy has been a complete waste of space for so long, and good riddance to his £50k (in the Championship!) wages.

Whats happened to Arsenal interest in Scott Dann ? he sure as hell not gonna stay with us, he be a great signing for Arsenal. There was also rumours of Chelsea being in the running of signing him.

Wilshire is actually good enough to play in the Cesc role, he's not as good, but he's got a similar set of skills and the level of vision required. The money would be better spent on a real DM and real wingers, and, 3/4 of a new back four.

As for if a manager would come in and instantly turn things around, I think the vast majority would. Firstly even guys like Redknapp could see building a team around Kind or Woodgate was stupid so he went and got first team guys and used them if fit when required. Gallas is better than anyone else there in defence. Arsenal have known about our sicknotes, all of them for the best part of 4 years and yet here we are, 4 years later relying on them MORE than we used to.

Redknapp can work that out, 90% of managers can work that out, Wenger can't. Likewise, Theo on the wing, no, Gervinho on the wing, no, Song as a DM, no.

I think 90% of the managers in this league let alone others would have seen our situation and bought who WE wanted early, rather than who is left in a couple of weeks from now which seems to be where we are going.

I've said it before, I have zero trust in Wenger bringing in the right people. If we don't bring in minimum of 2-3 top players I can see a very poor(by Arsenal standards and 100mil a year in wages) season coming our way.

I've almost lost the will to care, Wenger will continue to get rid of anyone worth keeping and I can really see both RVP and Wilshire wanting out come next season. Wilshire already looks like the quality of player a title winning side could use a decent amount now and rely on in the future to win more titles. Arsenal need to stop the rot, and that starts and finishes with Wenger at the moment.

This was all plainly obvious when Wenger angered our best wingers, both Reyes and Pires who was just epic for us at that time, have stated one of the major reasons for leaving was being angry over the champs league final. Henry, Reyes, Pires, the whole team (and a select few fans) saw Hleb for what he was, utterly crap. Reyes was very angry at simply being dropped and Pires had been angry and refused to talk to him for years after being subbed off instead of Hleb in the final.

Not to mention taking off Cesc in that game, who was instrumental to us already at that stage, 1-0 up, Cesc goes off, and we collapsed. Ok its not quite that bad but Wenger then till now hasn't learnt that when you're holding a lead taking off your best performer is basically football suicide. He utterly lost it that season, the 49 game unbeaten run, and the champs league final, he's not been the same manager since and he's slowly ripped the squad to pieces.

That 2005-2006 team could have won(with the same tactics) and Pires staying, the title several times since. But we lost our best players, changed tactics, got bad replacements and have gone down hill.

DM I like reading your posts, but you make my eyes bleed :(, is there any way you could just post a 1/2 sentence post once in a while, rather then these constant essays which just repeat the same thing over and over again.:p
