What a signing for Stoke if that comes off

Skybet have City down as evens to sign Jenas :o, Not a bad player but certainly no better than what we have in reserve. If he is -1m then he could turn out to be a good player or maybe it is a short loan with Toure going AOC.

Hmm, I haven't really kept up with the whole, homegrown rules lately, how is City's squad in terms of having enough homegrown players.

Barry, Milner, Richards, Lescott, Clichy probably. Honestly I can't even remember what the rule is, 10 of the 25 squad have to be homegrown?

Could that have anything to do with picking up a cheap English/homegrown player for numbers, to have someone to throw in as a rotation player so you can rest Toure/milner/whoever before CL games or whatever.

Still don't see it to be honest.

We have quite a few,
Hart, Richards, Lescott, Milner, Barry, Clichy, SWP (ATM), Guidetti, Razak, Taylor and Nimley.

Quite possibly, he will be useful for rotation like you say and who am i to judge Mancini's decisions on recent performances :D

Our Final Squad:
G: Hart, Pantilimon, Johanson and Taylor
D: Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Richards, Zaba, K Toure, Kolarov and Savic.
M: Milner, A Johnson, Nasri, Barry, Y Toure, NDJ, Razak, Silva and SWP.
F: Dzeko, Balotelli, Aguero, Tevez, Guidetti and Nimley.

So thats a 27 man squad but Balotelli, Johanson, Nimley, Razak, Savic dont have to be registered so really a 22 man squad so space for Onouha/Bridge/Bellamy if they end up staying.

Mertesacker - Agility 6, Acceleration 7.

:D

Well that proves it then :p

To be fair that could be Wenger's most brilliant tactical choice if he really is that slow. Djourou, Kos, even Verm and definately Squillaci all absolutely love to race out of position to intercept passes or close someone down and try and win the ball early, problem is out of the four only Verm is any good at doing that, the other three are so retarded they just leave a big gap.

So the solution, buy a player too slow to be tempted to do it :p

Hah absolutely! I think it was Mertesacker and Metzelder in Euro 2008 and they were like a comedy double act.

Wasn't it reported that as apart of the deal Lukaku wasn't going to be loaned out.

And lol at Arsenal tomorrow is going to be funny. It's basically going to be Arsenal transfer day. :D

I think he can... they did it with the 'keeper they bought being loaned to Atlético Madrid...

Edit :: isn't the rule to do with playing for three clubs in a year? If he didn't play for Chelsea, it's not an issue (not sure when the Belgian league starts).

He's already played for Anderlect this season, and he come on as a sub against Norwich.

I really don't care if Arsenal sign 10 players tomorrow, while I'll love it based on how crap our squad is now, NO manager should ever leave the entire fate of the season till the final few hours, its utterly irresponsible and utterly retarded. No one we're buying is a replacement for someone we sold last season with no warning, and we've already thrown 8 points away for no reason and hell, if we bought 5 players, how long would the existing squad and the new players take to gel, assuming all 5 were new first team players.

Also you dread to think what Wenger might have left the squad as without an 8-2 defeat.

This is why the people who questioned my support for saying I almost hope we lose badly to force the board/manager into doing something don't get it. Something good can come out of being thrashed and or losing a few big games.......... change. Maintaining the decline Wenger has kept us in was the single worst option possible. Losing and getting rid of Wenger, or getting thrashed and Wenger being forced to change his mind on a few things.

Though I think the biggest signing Arsenal could make this season would be, a defensive coach, whoever is taking on defensive coaching, tactics, training at the moment is quite simply not up to the job. As so many people have said, FAR worse players, technically worse, physically worse, can perform FAR better as a team than we can.

Lol, I woke up today and it's apparently Christmas at Arsenal since we seem to be buying about 100 players out of nowhere. Some of them are good buys by the sounds of it, others.... mostly all defenders so far bar Park... but yeah I want a creative midfielder, someone who's been around the block that Wilshere and Ramsey can learn from.

Also DM, I'd personally like to see Pat Rice go and Steve Bould move up from being the kids coach to AM and work on defending with the players we have, as it's quite true that lesser teams with worse defenders on paper do a better job than us. I don't think constantly playing a really high line has ever helped us though, because unlike Barca our ball retention and positional defending isn't good enough that we're hard to catch out via lobbed balls or quick breaks.

If true... wtf?

Do Man City really need another midfielder?

Edit: Arsenal should sign him on a pay as you play basis - or a 1 year deal with the option of a 2nd.

I really don't understand how we play a high defensive line and still manage to always leave a massive gap between defence/midfield!

Götze to Arsenal is also doing the rounds on twitter. He's one kid I really wouldn't mind wenger signing as he looks like the real deal. Some ITK on twitter is saying dortmund turned down a 25mil euro bid from us!

We're signing ******?! Stretched at the back jokes abound.*

*(I know this was done to death on Twitter last night)

EDIT - lol we're not allowed to say goat.se.

Dan Roan is reporting that Joe Cole is very close to joining Lille on loan. Didn't see that coming.

It's going to be an interesting end to the transfer window for us. Other than Coates completing his deal, it's difficult to call what else might happen. We're in for a striker if/when Ngog leaves and I hope and expect that if Meireles is allowed to leave, we'd bring in another winger/attacking midfielder too. However, other than Bellamy (who now looks like staying at City), we've not really been linked with anybody.

We've also still got to find clubs for Jones, Degen and Poulson.

You know it's approaching transfer deadline day when pictures of Peter Crouch leaving Spurs' training ground holding a shoe box is headline news on SSN :o

Well Chelsea have reportedly offered £8m + Benayoun for Meireles (it's been rejected though), and while I rate Benayoun as a player I think I'd rather have RM in the squad. I'd also like to see a decent striker signed regardless if N'gog moving on or not.

I could live with losing Meireles if it allowed us to sign a player more suited to playing either on the right or off the front (where Meireles has/will play). I don't want Benayoun back though!

Another striker would be nice but somebody that could play on the right would be ok too as we could then use Kuyt through the middle more. Ideally if both Ngog and Meireles left then we'd sign both a right sided player and a striker.
