Sky Bet:
Interesting bets coming in for Villarreal striker Guiseppe Rossi, who has moved to 4/5 favourite from 7/2 to join Tottenham.

I'll believe it when Redknapp describes him as a "top, top player".

So Santos, Chu young and Mertesacker have signed for Arsenal...so far so good but id like to see us try and replace Fabregas and Nasri...until we get Wilshere back we have absolutely zero creativity.

Hopefully fingers crossed by end of tonight Wenger signs another player.

Cahill is no longer an option for us i suppose, heard Spuds are in for him:(...

Sky are reporting that Bellamy to Liverpool has come out of no where. It's been all over the press for the last week that he'd be joining Liverpool if and when he can agree a deal with City regarding a pay-off :/

Could it be trueeeeeeeee? Hopin SAF is meeting him at airport :D

It's worth listening to SSN for the jokes. Liverpool already made signings of "big players", citing Adam and Henderson as examples, then saying Bellamy could be *the* big transfer of the day..

Even Georgie Thompson can't make that sound epic.

lol what the hell Bellamy to Liverpool. :D And lol at SSN saying Bellamy to Liverpool with be the big deal of the day.

If Scott Parker only cost £5m why weren't Arsenal getting involved in the bidding, would have been a great buy and just what the doctor ordered?

benayoun, malouda, kalou

all names ive heard linked with us. benayoun is decent and could slot straight in pretty much.

not keen on malouda or kalou :(

Kalou might be a possibility as we were linked with him a couple of years back, and the player has come out in the past saying how much he admires Wenger and wants to play for him.
I still think it would be a waste of money, there are other positions that need strengthening much more.

I'm getting increasingly concerned about the fact we haven't sold Almunia yet, he must be on massive wages (at least £40,000 a week) as he was #1 for a couple of years, yet nowadays he doesn't even seem to be second choice so at his age there is absolutely NO reason in keeping hold of him.

Smalltime City, again..

Like the earlier report from the BBC, Oliver Kay of the Times is saying that Bellamy's traveling to Liverpool for a medical but no agreement has been reached with City regarding a pay-off for Bellamy.

Well hes the brazilian first choice left back nowadays and he can score goals he's got a mean left foot!

New free kick taker?

He's not their first choice afaik, he played most of his games in the build up to the world cup, and the confed cup, but didn't play in the world cup. I think he was seen as marginally better than, whoever the heck was there before, Kleber and someone, but Gilberto has played there a couple times(not Silva, the other one) and another guy. He's backup, and their first team left back isn't very good to start with.

I'm not convinced, the guy is 28, made most of his international appearances in the confed cup and around it, he plays for Fenerbahce which..... lets face it isn't where most quality players end up unless they are 33+ and looking for a pay day.

First choice left back for Brazil is Bastos really, and he plays for Lille so we had little chance of getting him :p Really Gervinho hasn't impressed and we should have bought a real out and out winger, bought Hazard and Bastos, or frankly Everton in so much financial strife, Baines for 10-12mil.

he "could" be great, he might not be very good at all. He should be available a lot more than Gibbs and Traore/Gibbs can't defend at all, so he's still likely an improvement. Only worry is with Fenerbahce being high wage type club, he might end up not very good and on a very high wage(for us).
