Cheers, i really want to but can't afford it. £200 is a big chunk of money at the moment and i need to get myself sorted.

Glad things seem to be going well for you :).

Crazy in the head girls are fun, they're like a drug!

Definitely. After my most recent one went belly up I went through the process of what can only be described as going cold turkey. After a week or two of no contact I felt so much better, all the niggling thoughts had subsided and I was on my way to forgetting all about it and moving on, but then she got back in contact. It came flooding back instantly, my Dad told me it was like watching a drug addict spend ages getting over his addiction, only to shoot up again :o

Ah well, at least we're aware of it :D

:p me too, it's like you're watching me and wrote that post as some joke. only difference is i wasn't bad though as i was well aware of what she is like so have expected her to go for a long time and dealt with it ok, like a family member with cancer dying over a few years when it finally happens i don't feel sad but glad it's over peacefully. however just like you i didn't have any contact for ages, now she on holiday she emailed me and can't stop thinking about her and all those silly feelings i have for her have come rushing back. i'm handling it fine and have the whole time however i do feel i'm being silly replying to her. i guess i think as she left and now she is in contact she's finally realised she made a mistake and not me but in reality i think she's just lonely one night thinking about me but next day when out she'll forget me again

how often do people get replies on POF? i've emailed 4 girls now and not had a reply. granted one only a day ago but still they've all been online in last few hours so should have seen the messages. i wonder if i'm dong something wrong. profile is filled out enough with good picture, the messages i send are perfect, i'm funny but not too funny, i comment on something in their profile and try to show a small connection between us maybe music choice, films they like etc, i don't say hun or babes (cringe) figured i'd at least have some reply by now.

i think i've learnt my lesson and trying to stay away from the fake profiles like before :p there sure is plenty of dancers on pof.

i may try online chat but not sure what to say as it's a lot quicker. do people use the online chat to break the ice and if so what do people say? figure "hey, how you doing?" wont quite work.

i had a profile on pof for a while, got msg's daily but didnt realy respond to many.. im kinda picky, never met up with any of them
i was quite suprised at how many mailed a 2nd time to whine that i didnt respond, guess they were the desperate ones lol

Probably a daft question, but are you guys that are dating women you've met off the internet open about how you met? I've never done online dating before, but I got to know one of my best friends via a forum, and found myself feeling rather awkward when I was introduced to some of his family at his wedding last year as "Joe's friend off the internet".

I can't help but feel meeting people ion the internet has a stigma attached to it, even though it's becoming more and more common I guess.

It does sound lame though I don't know why. It shouldn't really.

I was telling some friends about a friend I met from the Webb and they was saying that it was weird to meet somebody from the internet.

Dont see the problem myself if you strike up a friendship with somebody it shouldn't really matter.

I have no problem at all telling people that I'm online dating. In fact most poeple I know like to hear my stroies.

People who think it's weird don't know what they're missing out on ;)

Yarp!..

Though when I was 'Searching' for that perfect woman, I also tried 'Speed Dating'... From Experience... DON'T DO IT!!!.. its like a Cattle Market. The blokes arrive on their own... The Women come in Packs!!

Went back to t'interweb almost immediately!!..

I met quite a few women online! and no one batted an eye in my friends or family!.. I'm even using the "1st Date with a Girl I met Online" story (My Future Wife) as a large part of my Grooms Speech!! :D

i must be doing something wrong as i have only had one message on pof and it was from someone i didn't like so pointless. :o

the main problem with pof is that is it riddled with scrubbers to be polite :o seriously i lose brain cells reading half the profiles of the few that dont instantly look like a total chav, not really into the whole princess malarky either, im quite aware im picky myself though ho hum.

The dates i have been on from there have all been ok, but not enough in common to pursue anything further.

I did use matchaffinity for a few months and have mixed opinions of it, its riddled with fake profiles that basically want your email address and nothing more, dead easy to spot though, there are genuine women on there but it normally seems involve a decent distance to get to the ones i like :)

I was reading back a few pages and saw the fake profile type post, had something similar with professional like model shots, no written profile either, on paper it looked dodgy as hell, she turned out to be a genuine profile, been on 2 dates so far with her and planning the 3rd, well out of what i would consider my league but not knocking it either hah :D

And before anyone asks no pics yet! :o

Well I don't think this online thing is going very well for me, I've made a friend out of it but It's all going a bit odd.

Added someone fortnight ago just to see what happens, posted several pictures of herself kissing someone with status's involving "Just had step dad give me safe sex talk lol!!"

To which I promptly deleted her.

I seriously don't get some people, Maybe I wasn't being as communicative as she would've liked but we hadn't really met so it was probably better that we didn't as I hate attention grabbing.

Sometimes I hate this whole Social Networking lark!
