****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've been waiting patiently to order this phone for about a month, now I'm getting to the end of my tether, just waiting for a cheque to clear (since 12th).

Going SIM Free @ £419, then onto the giffgaff £10 goodybags.

Also getting £80 from recycling my old blackberry (Too much hassle selling it on the bay), which I was hoping would put my mind at ease about the cost, but the majority of it has gone on accessories :D.

I still can't choose a case/screen protector though. I do quite fancy a dock too. :(

Fantastic device.
What Blackberry is that?

Buy any cheap silicon case from eBay to protect your new phone then upgrade to whatever you fancy.

just ordered myself a white one :) got fastrack upgrde for £75 then £150 for the phone on a 18 month £20 something contract with the option to reduce it lower half way through, thought i might as well as only a few quid difference once iv sold my phone...gotta love o2.

now to sell my desire.

Hey guys,

should be picking this up as soon as I turn 18, it was a debate over the HTC sensation, but I just prefer the galaxys interface.

I've been looking for accessories for this phone, and I have come across this

Just wondering if any of you's have purchased this pack, and if they could let me know if its any good?

Thanks guys.

It is/was the Curve 9300/3G; I really didn't like it, definitely not my type of phone, however I had to get my money's worth out of it considering it cost me about 160 pounds. Now I'm getting £80 back from it, it's not too bad.

Also a note about the expensive price of the GSII, I had a look around and found a SIM free model on ebay for a total of £370 and have bought that :D. Just hope it's genuine etc, I suppose I'm protected with paypal's ridiculous buyer protection anyway.

Back on VR 2.5 now, I like KH3 modem as it gives me decent battery and signal so will keep that for now. All is well so far... flashed the APM+Jaykay's green circle battery mod then the stock bouncy scroll and I like it.

try going to cex as you get a bit more there depending on condition and unlock status of the phone

Well Villain 2.5 turned out a bit sour. One of my Google calendars would not sync no matter what, only if I added a new event under that cal did it sync either way but not ones already added. restored back to GingerMod and all is fine again.

GM it is...

Network engineer here. Phones will "normally" show their current connection status. At idle this should be 3G and on data use should escalate to HSDPA. Some phones though had the odd side effect where they leave the "H"/"3.5g"/3G+" symbol up for longer than the connection lasted. They shouldn't, this isn't cricket but some do. I'm 99% sure the SF shows current status of connection, I'm playing with one here and it's flicking up and down correctly - maybe you had a lot of background sync going on?

Gmail sync sometimes needs a handset reset after first time credential setup RobNut - a slightly odd bug I've seen a few times on Android testers.

Weird. On this side of the office I get 1 bar signal and the H icon, this is without the little data arrows above it lighting up. If I use it for data I get good speeds.

If I go to the other side of the office, it changes to 5 bar of signal but the icon changes to G (not even 3G :( ) again without the data arrows flickering. And then I get rubbish speeds :(

That's normal. You are just in a weak 3g area, and it drops to 2g when it can't lock onto the 3g signal. They're effectively 2 separate networks.

It could just be me...

Installed latest Villain and noticed that the predictive text isnt working even when its ticked in the options. Using the stock keyboard and sms.

Anyone else got the same issue?
