I said i wanted the quote changed and its as simple as that and its because you don't understand my moral framework is why you think the quote was no big deal.
Its no big deal to you i have no problem with, but I'm not you and its not you being quoted.

It's strange, I read the edited quote as being something you said and thought nothing of it. However your reaction to such a trivial matter has painted you in a far worse light. If you think that this is "strict morals" I think your wrong, it's making a mountain out of a mole hill and spreading ill feeling unnecessarily.

If the edit was just removed without others jumping in then we would not be where we are now.
People don't understand your morals because your deviating from social norms. I think if you'd worded your initial request in a more reasonable manner then no issue would have been created.

I agree, I just think it was handled badly. You have to consider what other people consider morally acceptable too, I think it's morally unacceptable to confront someone so aggressively over a misquote. Furthermore I didn't tell you about your morals, I simply stated how the situation was in my (and others) eyes.

Exactly. I quoted the post in the manner I did for two reasons:
1) Quoting pictures a couple of posts down is irritating, hence the ad libbed version
2) We're in Hardware, not GD so I have faith in the intelligence of the people reading the thread to have read every post and take the quote in context. Apparently a view you don't share Final8y.
There was no malice, no intention of defamation, or calling your character into question. Even if someone had read your quote, they would have scrolled back up to see what I was talking about and seen the two words used in the pic anyway.
No harm done, situation defused, back on to day dreaming about release dates and specs for AMD's new flagship processor. Probably wise to get a whole lot deleted by a mod anyway, as my two liner appears to have derailed the thread somewhat.
I indeed deviate from social norms on many level because i don't like them, there is far too much deceptions and people not standing up for themselves when its really matters and follow when they should not, so we all lose out, everyone gets painted with the same brush from the get go and i have to fight every inch to people who don't know me so that the doors that should be open to me don't get closed.
And yes the way you put it would have been much better.
And i really should be going as the GF is coming around later.

I fully understand the intentions and the reasons, but people do make mistakes and do misunderstand and take things out of context even unintentionally, because theses things do happen is why i wanted it removed to take away the possibility.
I have been accused of saying things before on this forum which i have not said, i then ask them to look at my post history as proof, it also does not help that i make lots of spelling errors and would look even more as if i wrote it.
Now that you have quoted me as saying something i had not it is now in the history of me saying so.
Complacency and leaving things to chance is a killer and getting people out of problems because of that is tiring.
I'm not against people altering my quotes when its an obvious joke.
But then again you still have not removed it and the best that you could come up with was this, clearly you don't understand.

The slides are real but you have to realise AMD are here to convince us that BD is great. It's all marketing and as such everything they say has to be taken with a pinch of salt. I can't comment on the actual performance even though they showed us but people just have to use a bit of common sense. I'd say the same thing if Intel had written some slides claiming their products was better etc.
That's the whole point of reviews, they take an impartial look at the product and show people exactly what the processors can achieve. User reviews are helpful but even those aren't always trustworthy. Why would you not believe review sites?

I'm still not sure why anyone would by a 8150 over a 8120, assuming both are available within a few days of each other or the same time. I'm guessing numbers as I can't be bothered to check on the latest supposed prices, but lets say a 8150 is priced just under a 2600k, a hex core is probably priced just under a 2500k, and the not quite top end 8120 is likely to be somewhere inbetween, but closer to the hexcore price than the top end one.
Why pay £40-50 more for once overclocked, an identical chip? The 2500/2600k actually has a different feature, one that noticeably improves performance, so gives you a pretty good reason to go 2600k, even then the majority still go for a 2500k. If HT was on both, how many would go for the 2600k.

He has a point, but only if your GPU limited because having both better CPU and GPU would get better results.

A 6870 is only a mid range GPU.
I noticed a ton of difference going from a Phenom II to an SB system, and I bet the majority of people did too, as their current CPU was a bottleneck.
So, BD's IPC is important.
