Massa isn't the quickest driver, granted... but slow off the apex. Blinded by fanboism you are![]()
He's a good kid, though even i find the "finger" annoying as ****.
It was funny for the first couple of times, but boring & predictable now![]()
LOL love how much youve blown it out of context - butthurt muchBut only when Hamilton does it does it get blown up out of all proportion and questions about his WDC credibility raised.
Everyone has their trademark, MSC used to "conduct" the Italian national anthem, Vettel does the finger! Ok it's a bit.. weird.. but hey![]()
No just common motorsport knowledge, coupled with a few watches of the replay, that if you take a compromised entry to a corner on the inside then of course your exit speed will be slower. It was a misjudgement of mere inches by Hamilton, but a mistake nonetheless. People lose their front wings pretty much every race. But only when Hamilton does it does it get blown up out of all proportion and questions about his WDC credibility raised.

This one is no fun to watch.
He has been tremendous fun to watch!
Nope. I have honestly never thought Ham is as good as any of them...overhyped and overrated. If he was anywhere near as good as those he'd be a double WDC at least...sadly he's not!
A misjudgement that he keeps making. I don't know if this is a function of how McLaren design the front half of their cars or what, but he's spent a good portion of his career so far losing bits of wing on the back of other cars and sometimes puncturing tyres in the act. Hell, he finished off Rubinho's title challenge at Brazil in '09 by doing just that - clipping a rear tyre with his front wing on the exit of Arquibancadas. Yes, cutting an overtake a bit fine means you've got more chance of getting by and less chance for the other guy to get back at you straight away. But if you're going to go puncture another guy's tyre then you should expect the stewards to take a quick look at see if maybe you were being a bit silly.
Massa has every right to be bloody annoyed with Hamilton over that. It was so ******* unnecessary, he was always going to get by with fresher tyres and DRS coming to him. But no, not Hamilton, he has to go hammering in like a bull in a God-damned china shop....
It's becoming hard to watch him right now without shaking my head and wondering where the real Lewis Hamilton has gone to. If he's not tip-toeing around, afraid of making a move for fear of incurring the wrath of the stewards (see Monza, and his fairly limp - by his standards - effort behind Schumacher), then he's just charging around with not a single braincell engaged (e.g. Monaco, Silverstone, today). Hey ho. Maybe next year the real Lewis Hamilton will enter the world championship, rather than the one we have at the moment. This one is no fun to watch.
I agree that Massa has every right to feel aggrieved over the incident, no one would take kindly to having a fresh supersoft ripped off the rear of their car two corners after the pit exit.
However, Hamilton not only had to come in for a new nose, he also had a drive-through penalty for the incident. Despite the extra stop, Hamilton finished four places ahead of Massa.
When you consider that, the only person Massa can blame for finishing ninth is himself.
It's like Whitmarsh said on the forum: After the crash and the drive-through penalty, finding yourself in 20th position and over a minute behind the leader, many drivers would have just given up (Massa) but Lewis battled hard for the remainder of the race and did well to only lose one position off his qualifying place.
I know he had the radio conversation with the pit wall, "Am I still racing for points", but once they had assured him the race was still on, he gave it everything he had.
