** F1 2011 - Official Thread **

I'm having the same problem I had last year with the difficulty. Intermediate is too easy and professional AI is too hard.

this is something that bugs me , i want a challenge and be fighting with the teams i would expect in a lower team car.

So far i've got all assists off apart from traction control which is on full and all damage and fuel/tyre on realistic. I have AI cars on intermediate as professional was super hard when qualifying.

qualified 15th in Malaysia with team virgin which is good for the team but i think the race itself will see me slip back down the pecking order.

Hi there. I didnt really calibrate the wheel or anything but i did change the in game settings to :

Advanced wheel settings :

Everything 0% apart from Steering saturation which is 5%

In game : Force Feedback options :

Feedback : On
Env Effect : 40
Feedback Str : 70%
Wheel Weight : 50

There are others settings I tweaked but this was on the wheel.

was racing in the Malaysia gp as virgin team but the entire race i did not see DRS light up green for me to use it despite being within 1 second of cars at certain points in the race?

I had it available in qualifying but not in race and im sure i had a message while racing that DRS is now available after about the 2nd lap?

It did start to rain for most of the race , is this why i could not use?

Thats why i have got it on PC rather than Xbox or PS3. On PC using my GTX 460 it is silky smooth on every track so far.

Silky smooth using a gtx460 are you sure about that I have the same gfx card and is far from smooth on all tracks,which cpu you have please ?

I don't have the game yet however from my knowledge of F1 I don't think Virgin have the DRS on their car, however I have no idea why you had it in qualifying, maybe a bug?

DRS is disabled in the rain :)
 
Just came 4th in my first race at Melbourne. Was pretty tricky but managed to out-brake most of them!
 
All cars have DRS but Virgin HRT and Lotus do NOT have KERS.

Just done a wet race around China in the Force India and it was interesting to say the least, the back end of the car towards the end of the race was all over the place.

Have to say the AI is much improved at the minute, leading the championship up to now but it has been a bit of a struggle with tyre wear. Plus I will NOT use TC, I think the game would be so much easier with TC and detracts from the enjoyment of the game slightly.

I have i5 2300. Both are not overclocked.

Res is 1920 x 1080
16X MSAA or whatever it is and then all the settings for shadows etc on as high as possible.
 
Just like in the first game I'm having issues doing pit stops. Running a GP at 20% distance, when you head into the pits even with a decent lead you sit there for 30 seconds as the entire AI field are pitting as well! Not impressed with that at all, sure you can fix it by ignoring your engineer and come in a lap later, or my adjusting strategy but it shouldn't be an issue anyway!

Odd, I noticed it was vastly superior in this game. I pitted with 2 other cars right behind me, and we all left at the same time in the order we had gone in.

Technically IRL, it would have been an unsafe release :p
 
After reading this I think i must be the only one doing it on easy :( Though I didnt play F1 2010 and this is my first proper racing game in forever!

Either that or im utter ****, first race came 6th then next two came 1st in both.

Enjoying the game so far though would prefer a wheel :(

not had the issue in 2010 or 2011 on my xbox
 
Just did an online race, seemed like the first corner is just everyone smashing into each other, then pole and 2nd zoom off and everyone else gets points :(

Somone smashed into the side of me while overtaking and i got a penalty :(

Was this just a bad race? please dont tell me this is how every race is :(
