Well that was easy!

basically download a couple of bits and run one novacom command and it does everything else. There was about a 5 minute delay where it seemed to be doing nothing much on the screen but be patient.

Now to have a play around. :D

EDIT: ah, need to install a google apps zip for market etc.

Well all my usual stuff works, and it seems more stable than most phone ROMs. ;)

DLNA working, moboplayer working. One thing I've noticed is that some games don't support this res well, for example Radiant HD you can't see your score. I guess with this release and other tablets with a similar resolution like the Archos 80 g9 this shouldn't be an issue so much in the future.

Is this on the 64gb?
 
I'm having problems with wifi randomly dropping and flash performance is pretty bad with the latest Flash 11 installed from market. Lots of stuttering on youtube at 720p.

So yeah, definitely an alpha :)
 
Hmmmm might wait until the Beta it out.


And I'm getting more and more freaked out by that greentheonly guy! He's really creeping me out! :(

No wifi issues here, I've been streaming Tunein radio for the last 30 mins or so. iPlayer seems to work fine as well, it's about to have the 'er indoors' test, she pulled her back at the weekend and wants to borrow the tablet to watch some BBC stuff in bed so if she starts shouting downstairs I'll let you know. ;)

What videos are stuttering for you? Maybe I can test them here, it might be related to your wifi issues.

Sounds really good, DLNA especially is the one thing I'm looking forward to :)

Could I ask someone to try the new google books app and see if it offers a two-page view in landscape, it does on Honeycomb tablets, but not on my phone, but thats something I really like about the kindle app on WebOS

On that note, how easy is it to switch between the two?

You just reboot into WebOS or recovery from Android on the shutdown menu. Or there is also a startup menu which allows you to select manually if you didn't do that.

With regards to youtube, I can't see any stuttering on HD videos whatsoever, I've tried about 5. The only problem I had was a second or two of buffering every now and again when I was at the opposite end of the house from the router.

I would seriously say this ROM is more stable than most HTC Desire ROMs I've used. ;)

The only bug I have noticed is a couple of times the touchscreen hasn't worked immediately when I've woken the device up, but a quick on/off has always fixed this.

What browser are you using and what videos?

Wifi seems stable since my last post however.

Another problem I'm seeing is that battery is draining on the Touchstone, even though it shows as charging.
 
Video plays fine for me in both stock browser and Youtube app.

No sound on the video I made for some reason, I took the video with a Windows 7.5 phone. (Oh and sorry for the annoying off putting hungry cat)

Ah, looks like you are going to the desktop version of Youtube? It's just as stuttery on this Xperia Arc Android handset I have here (in fact 360p is as bad as 720p on the Touchpad) so I don't think this is a CM7 problem - Youtube even warns that it's not meant to play on a mobile device.

You're right, but the mobile version of the site plays it an ugly low res :) Even with HQ selected it's blurry. WebOS handles it far better at 720p on the desktop version of YouTube.

The problem is not all websites have a dedicated app either. The videos on anime-on-demand.com are unplayable too, though they work pretty well in WebOS (some minor stuttering at 720p).

Was your TomTom free? Is it free to continually update it? No, you pay a GPS subscription to someone either through the initial cost, or contined purchased updates. Obtainting a signal from a satellite and using it's data is only free with FreeSat TV :) (although you have to pay for the kit)
