UEFA Champions League 6/7 December *** Spoilers ***

Nani keeps the ball when it really seems as if he should lose it, he needs to be a bit less reckless with his long shots, but his crossing was just top quality tonight and he seems keen to continually work on his game, look at how much better his tracking back is compared to a few season back for example.

That trick early on when he used his strength to go between the two defenders was just ballsy as hell, most refs would have given a foul for it but it was a great move.

Was that also the case last season then? You know when we won the league and reached the UCL final?

i don't know what's happened. you've had some dire and lucky performances last season too, this has been in the post for 18 months. i'd never write united off but city could have the pl in the bag by february

just seen silva's goal. wow.

Stoke fans must be p***ed, City and Utd now in the way! (i know they wont get drawin the next round but after that)

Saw the gif, looked awful.

How long does a ligament put you out for usually?

If it's the ACL then a very rough estimate would be 6 months. Some players have been out for over a year though. Skrtel fell very similarly to Vidic a few seasons back vs City and done a different ligament in his knee and was only out for around 2-3 months iirc.

Well this is turning out to be a magnificent week.
Indeed, we couldn't have hoped for more than City and Utd falling in to that horror that is the Europa League.

I just hope Harry writes off Europe and doesn't risk our key players trying to "do a Lyon". Also hope Utd and City take the Europa on and don't just throw it away. Our best chance of a good PL placing is if we focus solely on the Prem and the rest take their eye off the ball.

Our squad really isn't that great. No cover for Bale, BAE, Lennon, Adebayor, Modric, Walker and even King as he's a class above any CB anywhere ;) All our cover for these players is a significant drop in quality and will affect the way we play.

All depends which ligament(s) are damaged and if it's a tear. If it's an ACL tear at worst, then it'll be ~9 months till he's fully it.

Name me a manager that has sustained top 4 finish and last 16 of CL at a bare mimum for 14 seasons in a row on a shoe string budget.

ahh right theres none.

IIRC Arsenal went out once in the group stage as well so with that in mind Fergie

Ferguson is a dinosaur in Europe. Has been for years and years. Great teams have won it in spite of him, not because of him. No doubting his ability domestically but in Europe he's a bit of a joke.

At least City had a tough group. Fingers crossed they still take the league this season and this doesn't knock them back too far.

I think with our current striking situation we should be using Nani behind Rooney until Welbeck is fully fit, he looked dangerous there against Villa and at the moment seems wasted on the wing.

This stuff about City having a tough group is massively overplayed. Granted it was far harder than Utd's but it wasn't that difficult. Napoli aren't this amazing team some are making out. City should have qualified from that group fairly comfortably.

Plus its Napolia's first go in the CL
