The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Any you guys have a Pc copy and PS3 copy. Got a PS3 for my daughter and the graphics look horrific, cannot belief how bad they look compared to PC. Or is 2560x1440 just to much for the consles to compare too.

I've done some side tasks and found myself a member of the thieves guild now, and I feel dirty. :(
So I'm arch mage of the college of winterhold, a bard at solitude, a member of the companions and now a thief. Since I'm now a highly respected protector and dragonborn in lots of skyrim, Is being a thief a bad route for me to take in the game or doesn't it matter?

Being a mele character, can I still get in to the college of winterhold?

Orly?. Tell that to the Whiterun Jarl :D:D

Er, I assume you meant Windhelm? And there still isn't a presence in the city.

Being a mele character, can I still get in to the college of winterhold?

She selects a random spell (according to the UESP wiki) from a list of 5. I think the only 1 you might have trouble casting is the Illusion one, otherwise you should be fine with the basic 100 magicka. Otherwise you just need enough fortify magicka to cast the spell to get in. 1 of the generic hoods with a magicka bonus and/or a strong enough potion of fortify magicka will do it.

Finally bought Skyrim for £23 on Steam - was cheaper elsewhere but couldn't be bothered waiting to save only a few quid.

The graphics are superb and screenshots don't do this game justice. The hair on the characters isn't that great, but the rest more than makes up for it. Plays extremely smooth as well - less buggy than BF3.

I am so raging at Steam right now, not used it much since BF3 came out though most of my games are on Steam and I would have bought BF3 on Steam if it had been available, but iI have been keeping an eye on the Christmas sales this week and Steam just seems to be really glitchy?
Oh yeah, Skyrim, got it today, physical copy, can I hell get it to install from the disc!
I have tried the "fixes" I have found with my friend google but to no avail, it refuses to install from the disc, even if I get lucky and it starts to install from the disc it comes up with a Steam servers are busy error and starts to download again!
I normally wouldn't mind, as stated a lot of my games I purchase are through Steam and I download from Steam, it is just infuriating that when you have the game on a disc and it's pointless, it may as well just been a key code in the box.

/RAGE

Merry Christmas

your running the auto play installer from the disc and following the instructions correctly?

yes mate, it just logs me into Steam and installs by downloading, once i did get it to say "installing from disc" but just as it was almost complete I got the "servers are busy" error so it stopped installing from the disc and started again by downloading! very frustrating, I could have had it downloaded in the time I have been trying to get to install from the disc but my stubbornness would not let it :(

80% downloaded now, just very lame that installing from the supplied disc was never an option for me and easy to see why new customers to Steam can be put off.

Just had an epic long battle with a dragon, finally kill it, only to be killed myself by a random bandit that jumps out of a bush and one hits me because my HP is so low.

God dammit

Then theres bosses like Morokei who seem to have a stupid amount of health so your spells do sod all and can 1 hit kill you so the whole fight is just tedious. Those I'll save it regularly during the fight.
I've just done this guy and I think it highlights what I feel is the one major flaw in the levelling system for this game.

I'm about level 41 and my one handed is so strong that I ran up to him and killed him instantly with a single strong attack of dual maces, he didn't even get one hit on me. If anything I do feel overpowered since adding a couple of the one handed perks. But, I didn't dual wield from the start, for quite a while I mixed one handed with destruction magic. Unfortunately at some point the one handed attacks started to clearly outpace magic so it made sense to focus on that, mainly to keep up with the difficulty curve. Now I'm left with my one handed skill at 100 and destruction way behind at around 60, even though I'd like to use it, it simply isn't viable.

Obviously the counter argument to this is that I'm not supposed to excel at more than one or two skills, which is fine, but in that case maybe I shouldn't have already reached the cap for one handed so far ahead of the overall level cap. I'm left with battles that are stupidly easy, or excessively difficult if I try to use anything other than one handed attacks.

It certainly won't stop me playing, I'll just have to grind it out where I can and use the training available each level. There were definately quite a few times early on where I levelled up without using any of the available 5 chances to train, it's only now that I'm seing how important these are even early on.

Does this game have a weird FOV? I've had to stop playing it. I'm getting terrible dizzy spells everytime I turn. In under 10 minutes. It's horrid. Yet with hardly any action I'm getting this just walking about. Yet Battlefield 3 gives me no issues, nor does the Uncharted games.

This is worse than reading in a car.
