Its nothing to do with the Stormcloaks  There isn't the slightest hint of a connection between the guy who gives you the contract and the Stormcloaks since you more or less find out who he is when you take the amulet to Mallory.

Main quest is starting to annoy me.

Seriously what is with this stupid negotiation? Ulfric demanding Markath and Tullius wanting Riften or Winterhold in return. Why is there no option to tell them both to go **** themselves and either declare a temporary peace or to burn in Sovngarde?

Enchantment perks aren't retroactive. They only apply to new enchantments.

I didn't get that as I had done the Imperial campaign before the main and
had already detroyed the Stormcloaks and had taken over Windhelm.

Another noob question (sorry)

How does Lesser Ward differ to Oakflesh (apart from the stamina effect)?

It doesn't say that Lesser Ward has a time limit so that's where I am confused.

great game but i have come across a game breaking bug

it will not let me proceed through a door to talk to someone

Ive come across this: killed petra before enlisting the services of her enslaved companion. I therefore had to kill the companion to grab the Eye of Melka. Now everywhere i go the map still keeps telling me to kill petra despite the fact that I have killed her?

It doesn't, but if one enchanting perk isn't retroactive, why should another one be :p ?

You can always acquire the same weapon and give it a stronger enchant, its not exactly hard to get either the materials for crafting or the money.

Ah I see now. So really these enchantment perks don't upgrade existing weapon and armour enchantments, but rather they only work at an increased strength after I create more new enchantments. And yeah, I have nearly 100K gold so buying more ebony ingots and daedra hearts to make more powerfully enchanted weapons is a breeze. :p Then I'll sell my weaker ones or maybe give to lydia.

What stamina effect?

Oakflesh is a temporary buff that only works on physical damage.
Lesser Ward is a 'while casting' effect that gives a small armour boost that works on physical damage and a shield against spell damage/effects.

Basically. Oakflesh is something you cast before you start a fight because the armour bonus it gives is almost worthless, even with the Mage Armour perks. Lesser Ward is extremely useful against Dragons since it completely blocks the fire/frost breath, against mages it depends if you're having trouble evading the enemies spells (or they use Lightning which you can't dodge) because its extremely expensive early game, against physical damage don't even bother, its too costly.

Hey guys, what do you think might be the best enchantment for my daedric armour? I've learned four enchantments, but only fortify stamina can be applied to the armour. That will increase stamina by 29 points, but then I've already got amulets and rings that increase stamina a fair bit. I've also got various rings and necklaces with resist magic by 10%, resist fire by 15%, increase health by 40 points, stamina regens 40% faster, increase heavy armour skills by 15 points. What did you put on your armour? I'm wondering if I should bide my time until I can find something that will let me enchant with resist frost, since most dragons tend to be frosty.

You've got Daedric Armour but only 4 enchantments? Have you just been selling all the enchanted items you came across instead of disenchanting them if possible? Probably Resist Fire/Frost or Fortify weapon skill, though the latter can be a little gamebreaking if you go too far.

Decided to start a new character (that stupid peace treaty annoyed me). Made a Dunmer called Valen Dreth, who naturally isn't all that happy about the Imperials trying to kill him after they locked him up on Oblivion for an unspecified length of time so he'll be joining the Stormcloaks to kill some Imperial scum. Trying to focus on pickpocketing and illusion with some general magic and combat skills in the mix. Also upped it to Master for some silly reason.

Just gone over to Bleek Falls Barrow and had some fun with Fury. Could see 1 bandit on the lookout post, hit him with Fury, he eventually starts a fight with another bandit, so I run up behind them both mid-fight and burn them both to death with Flames. Why didn't I try using Illusion earlier :D

Before I had any knowledge or any interest in enchanting and smithing, I probably did drop a few weapons that might have been enchanted since I was only really thinking about the damage value of the weapon. But like I said, I have plenty of rings, necklaces and amulets with all sorts of enchantments I can disenchant, but I'm pretty sure I'd be be better off with resist frost. I'm not sure I've ever come across a weapon yet with resist frost. I've got the enchantment for increase two handed skills but that won't go on my armour, but I did put it on my gauntlets. I could disenchant 3 things I have that might be useful for armour: increase heavy armour skills by 15 points, or disenchant items with resist magic or resist fire. Hmm.. decisions, decisions :D

Still haven't gotten round to playing this yet. Kinda regretting adding to my steam account now, bit of an impulse buy.

Lovely map though, great texture to it.

I've been playing a Nord warrior as I thought that race suited being dragon born as the other races just did not make sense to me and managed to loose 60hrs worth of gaming due to my Vertex 2 giving up the ghost lesson learnt about not backing up my game save as per norm. After catching backup to where I was before I've been experiencing some bugs unlike my last play. I've been having random items becoming listed as stolen like my dragon bones and scales making them I selectable for selling or smithing and opening books with blank pages. For all the games glitches though it's still fantastic having a walk around skyrim and seeing all the detail with the world with it's random encounters along your travels.

I tooka couple of cool dragon shots. Sorry they're so big, but dragons are huge you know
