The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

There is a lot of fun to be had with Illusion.

Came across some noble on a horse with a guard. Fury'd the horse which made both the noble and guard attack it. Killed both of them, looted them, fury wears off, I take the horse and ride off. Come up against a Restless Draugr which scares the horse off... so I fury it which makes it attack the Draugr relentlessly so it focusses on it while I get the stand around casually Flaming it and hitting it with a sword. Once its dead, fury wears off, ride off on my horse again :p

There's definitely something wrong with my game. I still haven't seen a dragon. Must be getting on for 25 hours or more now. I went to the sky temple (not as part of the quest, just exploration) and the wiki said a dragon should fly over as you leave. I didn't see it :(

Lol, I'm getting too many of them. I'm trying to get to a new undiscovered location west of falkreath called cracked tusk keep for a quest, and every place I fast travelled to today, be they close or far from where I need to get to, has a dragon. Even fast travelled to Eldersblood Peak which I cleared ages ago, and it had not one but two dragons. I've already got 13 fully unlocked shouts and 10 dragon souls, I don't need anymore for now. :p

Was strutting about in my new hand made dragonscale armour, when I came across a lil ol' dragon and I actually got a kill animation, so I thought I'd better take a screenshot to capture this EPIC moment

Think I need a bit of practice.

Quite annoyed about the smithing tree, in that I can't go backwards. I know how to make dragon armour, but I can't learn daedric smithing unless I go up the other path, bit annoying since it has the best bow.

Also can some1 tell me how far along the main quest I am, I've ignored it for some time
The quest is called Diplomatic Immunity and I need to meet Dephine in Riverwood to see how we can sneak into the Thalmor embassy

You're about 1 hour's gameplay behind me and I was told about halfway through. It's disappointingly short :(

I have a misc quest to kill the dragon and anthor point (can't remember what it's called exactly), but I have already been there and cleared it. Pressing m on the quest to show the map doesn't locate it and there is no quest icon either :( Something has broke it somewhere :(

Yeah it is a bit lame on the weapon side of things. The light armour side gets to max out sooner since Glass is a lower level than Ebony so you'll get hold of it earlier but misses out on Ebony/Daedric weapons. The heavy armour side gets to Orcish weapons then has a long wait until Ebony starts being sold.

im nearly 30 hours in and havent even finished act 1 yet, am on the last part of it, but discovered the thieves guild and then decided to walk to each of the major cities for later fast travelling...obviously getting sidetracked by dungeons and stuff on the way :p

I know you can use the carts to get to the main cities, but prefer to walk and discover things along the way, as well as grab materials for poisons :)

You really do level stupidly fast to begin with. So fast that the level scaling system just doesn't work in the slightest. Playing as a pickpocket/thief focusing on illusion magic with general combat with my dagger/bow and basic destruction/conjuration/restoration. So far all I've done is clear out 3 Bandit Camps for the bounty near Whiterun and killed the first dragon and I'm now level 12.

Had such a stupid encounter when fighting the first dragon. Just as we finished it off, 3 Thugs turned up (apparently hired by the Courier I pickpocket'd earlier... who I also killed immediately after he caught me ><). So in front of 4 Whiterun guards they attempted to attack me... so I just ran around for a bit and let the guards slaughter them :D

There is a way you can remove the perks from the left side and then put them on the right side. Depends on whether or not you feel its cheating. personally I think you should be able to remove perks and then use them somewhere else, like you can in Borderlands and Deadspace.

OK I've ran into a couple of Dragons now, but there still doesn't appear to be any random spawns. These two were at stone walls I hadn't discovered.

How many dragon walls are there (the dragon symbol on the map)?

I'm retiring my bow for a while. Realised that my destruction and other mage skills were really low so trying to get them up a bit now.

These aren't the droids you're looking for...

I'm not one to complain about this game, I think it's absolutely amazing. But it's a pity that the towns and the landscape are mostly identical, that you don't really feel you're in another part of Skyrim. I've just gone into the pub in Falkreath and it's identical to the one in Riverwood and several others. The wooden cabins with straw roofs are the same in every small town, same design. There's exceptions to these of course in the biggest towns like Solitude, Markath and Riften. Roads are all identical stonework, and of course voice acting is so limited, you're basically speaking to the same guards (arnie) in the far south east of Riften as the guards (arnie) in the far west reaches of Markath. It just breaks the immersion a bit because you want to be convinced that NPC's have more individuality and really are different from the ones in a town far away, likewise with the buildings.

There's such a lot of content in the game that it's not surprising really, but I hope future games might expand on variety of voices and architecture from place to place.

Its not just the limited number of voice actors and lines they had, its when they say them in situations that it just doesn't apply in too. You trade with 1 of the stall merchants in Whiterun who only sells food and her line is 'Trinkets, odds and ends', she sells food! That is not a trinket! As you say, it breaks the immersion because its clearly out of place. Or when merchants half the world away say the same line, just in a different voice.

And the less said about guards the better ><

I am considering going on a rampage in Chillburrow Farm outside Whiterun. Every time you walk through Whiterun, past Nazeem, he comments in his annoying, sarcy voice about how you don't get to the cloud district!

The dungeons and mines are also identical most of the time. At first I quite enjoyed going into them but after a while it became more of a chore and I would rush through as it was getting boring.

The voice acting seriously ruins the immersion for me. Especially when people vital to the quest line are done by the same actor who does the voice of a few other random characters. Like Farkas for instance, he says the line "you have been a friend to me and that means something" and there are random dudes who say the exact line in the same voice and I haven't even been a friend to them wtflol.

I wonder if the DLC will have any new content or just use the same voices, houses, pubs etc? I do hope they add some new stuff.

Its no where near as samey and repetitive as Dragon Age II, for example. Every indoor location there was pretty much a copy paste of the last.
While the textures and designs are similar in many Skyrim locations they are varied enough to keep it interesting or we wouldn't still be banging on about this game so much :) Its not a bad mix of indoor and outdoor camps and I am still finding new locations at level 55, both outside and in the cities.

As for voice acting, there are so many characters that you can interact with I am not really surprised they dont all have much depth to the speech options, but yes, I get also pretty bored with the "some may call it junk, but me I call them treasures" line :P

At least the random statements of guards do change depending on what you have been up to and events.

Overall though, for a single player game I dont think we can complain that much. You certainly can get your moneys worth out of it.

Anyone else suffering bugs since the last patch? Everytime I exit a building I get about 1 FPS, I have to back in and then out again hoping that it resumes to normal :(
