The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Quick question, I have recently joined the DB and have just started the first 3 contracts, already killed Nazrif due to previously finding his daughters remains for a side quest. Anyway, the armor you get from the DB, what are peoples thoughts on it? Best light armor in game?

Also, have the quests been fixed or are they still bugged?

Meh, Brotherhood is nothing special. Not sure how it compares as far as armour rating goes but its got some good bonus' for a stealth based character early game and the gloves are incredibly useful for anyone intending to do backstabs. The headgear can be replaced with Krosis' mask since it gives more bonus' or anything else if you aren't using a bow or alchemy, the boots aren't necessary once you reach that perk in the Sneak tree, the armour is pretty weak (Poison Resistance... meh) and the gloves won't help if you're playing ranged.

The Jesters and Cicero's set are pretty decent. The clothes give a pretty hefty boost to barter price and the other items are quite strong too, though you'll probably have something better in mind unless you rush through the brotherhood quests.

I'd like to know this. I keep getting "animal in house" quests. Quite boring. Go here, kill thing, come back.

They're just 'radiant' quests, it seems endlessly repeatable generic quests or something. I keep getting those boring as hell brawling ones. Go here, punch just completely random guy around for a reason I can't understand, go back. I wouldn't mind but 1 of them was the blacksmith you meet in Riverwood, can't help but think wtf? Why would I go back to him and beat him down?

I guess its the same as the random book quests from the Librarian guy in the College of Winterhold.

I haven't chosen which faction to side with in the civil war yet. Do you think a Stormcloack or Imperial victory would give Tamriel a better chance against the Thalmor?

Please answer with a yes/no so I don't get anything potentially spoiled

Just killed Alduin in the main quest. Is this the end of the main quest? Seems kind of short compared to the rest of the game's scope

I must be a masochist, but each time I complete one of urag's book quests, I keep asking him if he has any more and sure enough, he always does. :D I really enjoy those simple 'find an item and kill all the bandits, animals, spiders, mages and boss guys on the way' quests :p

Me too. Sometimes one must enjoy the simple pleasures in life :p

Did red eagles sword quest the other day. Red eagle glitched out on the first attempt and was somehow immune to stagger!.

All my tactics, gone!
Then he one hit me with a standard attack...

Are any enemies immune to stagger as standard? I should start thinking of new ways to fight if so.

I don't think anything is outright immune to stagger, I think they just have different thresholds as far as the required strength of the attack is. Hard to say. The only other enemy I recall being immune to my attempts at staggering was the Volunruud boss. Shield Bash/Power Bash did absolutely nothing, yet blocking one of his attacks would sometimes make him stagger. Using the shout made him stagger too I think (not that its a particularly useful source vs powerful enemies with lots of hp).

Given the way a lot of things are worked out it could be your level is involved and probably the damage inflicted (depending on the form of attack), so the higher your level compared to the enemy and the stronger the attack/bash/shout the more likely an enemy is to stagger and the more severe it will be.

First time player, trying to decide which race. Definitely going for stealth, torn between Bosmer and Khajiit, any recommendations? Planning on archery and sneaking hopefully. Which might be better long-term, commanding animals or night vision?

I just used the nvidia fPS limiter and it has made my game run so smooth I can't believe it. I have a few mods running which was causeing the fPS to fluctuate and the game was choppy all sorted now

difference with the Theives Guild is that every 6th or 8th mission, a special mission appears where a client wants something done. Once that's done, they give their backing to the guild. Do four of those and the guild is back to full strength ;)

i have a problem with the TG, :(
for the main quest, i quit talking to Mercer Frey before all the speech was finished.

i completed
A Chance Arrangement,
Taking Care of Business,
Loud and Clear
but i never recieved the Dampened Spirits quest ( speak to mavern black briar)

now i have tried speaking to her, also tried Mercer and Brynolf but i cant go farther :(

i have done about 8 quests from Vex and Delvin, but apart from money, i got nothing else.

also is it worth becoming a Warewolf, do you get many more quests from the companions?

Ok I think I can deal with that.
I met a boss immune to fire, frost, and shock spells recently. If similar levels of immunity were common, I'd be in for a tough time later on!

Bosmer and Khajit are almost identical. Never played as a bosmer so I can't comment on commanding animals but I would expect that it would be at least somewhat useful whereas I found the night vision pretty useless, the nights and the dungeons I have been in are all light enough that you can see perfectly well without it.

woohoo D3DOverrider is working with Skyrim and the latest msi afterburner :D, Now I can see all my OSD readouts in game and have vsync and have Triple Buffering for D3D.
