******* The "official" Essential iPad Apps thread (with stars) *******

Being able to play MKV files directly is all very well but they just take up too much space. I'd much rather spend a little time crunching them down using Handbrake so they don't take up all the space on my iPad.

I can see your point, plus handbrake is a breeze to use. Awesome program.

Been awhile since anyone updated this, any good new apps out there?

Ive just started using the Journey to the exoplanets app which is very good for the price :-)

CloudOn is brilliant, edit office files for free in Dropbox. Using it with a wireless keyboard and it's fantastic. Can't believe it's free!

After a game to play in the office on breaks. We're Asphalt 6 players, but we've had it a while.

Needs to be cross-platform and live multiplayer. Any suggestions?

Bump.

Right, so, other than the official Apple apps, what else have we found that's been given the Retina treatment?

So far of my existing iPhone+iPad (I hate that some things like Star Walk have sep. apps for each device, bleh!), I think only Vimeo has been updated.

You guys need to try an app called 'CloudON'. Basically it's Microsoft Office 2010 with Drop Box.
Will go get this now, theres another Virtual Windows 7 cloud app, can't think of the name or if it worked in the UK..

And how the heck is cloudon free :o?
