England vs The Netherlands & other International Friendlies ** spoilers ** [29th Feb 2012]

Why do I think he's personally attacking me, because he makes a habit of it and lately a LOT of members have decided to respond to a lot of my posts with a generic "You're wrong because I say so, you always just post to have a go at Arsenal" post, over and over. Look at Weebull's response.

As for why the Arsenal team should see it if the dutch Fa don't, firstly and quite simply, one doctor misdiagnosing something doesn't excuse another doctor also misdiagnosing it. Secondly, time very very simply, its incredibly common to rest as much as possible and take another scan, not all but a huge number of injuries involve immediate swelling which frequently makes scans less accurate. Rescanning as the swelling goes down is incredibly common and often gives a much clearer picture.

As a doctor, with your really only top class striker(and with several other strikers injured at that point) I wouldn't rely on either one opinion, first opinion or the initial scans taken, its that simple. Fly out and see the player before sending them to a quack.

Well I'm not saying your wrong, but you don't exactly post much positive about Arsenal, but then again I suppose your entitled to criticise and be interested in the club you support.

As for the whole blaming the Arsenal doctor for not forming a second opinion on the scan and seeing him in person he could well have seen the exact same results, for all we know (unless you're a doctor or something) seeing him in person wouldn't have changed very much and the results he had were as good as they would get. Not saying there is no blame at all on them but to weight it heavily on them is pretty harsh.

Also what is a quack? Some sort of dodgy doctor because of this horse placenta stuff? I think I remember it doing wonders for Benayoun in his last season for us, could be wrong.

I can barely muster up the interest for England in a game that matters never mind a pointless friendly which will then be over-analysed for the next 2-3 days picking over every pointless peice of action no matter how inconsequential (spl? :p)

/yawn. Will be watching anything but!

Gotta love it when someone posts literally 1,500 words of basically the same thing then blames you for de-railing the thread :D

It's nothing personal DM, if you feel you are being personally targeted then it's just because I disgree with you more than others. And I confess it's pretty amusing to see the inevitable brain-vomit that ensues :p

For what it's worth I think Arsenal's record of injuries is as lolworthy as any other, but on this particular occasion I just happen to completely disagree with you, based on the evidence I've seen, and no, I don't think in any way you have 'proved' anything in this thread other than you have a quite magnificent typing stamina and capacity to use 10 words when any mortal would be content with 1 :p

Annyway - anyone care to hazard a guess at the England team that will step out on the field, accounting for last minute toe-stubbing, mystery man-flu or otherwise inconsequential ailments that will miraculously resolve in time for the Premiership games at the weekend?

And that is the biggest reason I can no longer stand England players. I literally cannot wait for them to get utterly whipped and beaten in the up coming tournament in the most embarrassing manner possible. I will be cheering for whoever they play, while they lose and trot out the old clichés about playing for England like they are reading from a script.

Then we can hear the same old clichés about no plan b from the fans :D

Let's see how much heart is in this game from the bigger players.

Parker as captain is a complete joke. He's likely to be retired from int football before the next tourney after the Euro's.

So much for England looking to the future and dropping the old guard, Hart should have the armband.

What a joke, Scott Parker's 31. I just hope it's because SG isn't starting.

He's only being named captain for today so being 31 counts for nothing.

But I hope and expect Gerrard isn't going to be playing more than 30 mins or so tonight; he's just played 120 mins and we've got a game Saturday lunch time.

Parker isn't really a surprise. He's a fairly 'safe' bet considering that the new manager may want to change captain again.

Given the fact that there will likely be another manager in charge before long, tonigt's captaincy means nowt - plus the likely long term captain is unlikely to play anything like the whole match tonight (if at all) so I dont really care who is given the armband

Would expect Parker to play 90 minutes. Will be suspended for the weekend after his red. He might well be in contention long term being a DM. They seem to have lastibility.

It doesn't matter if he won't make the next tournament, it's this one they are focused on. Far too much fuss is made over the England captain in this county.

Besides the press are probably just waiting for someone to be named so they can run a story of how a player has been behaving in private. We will probably find out tomorrow Parker has been having an affair with Harry's dog.

It's too late now to kick out the so called old guard and start a fresh. As much as I would love to see the Rooneys and Gerrards etc out and the kids given a chance it will never happen.

Rooney is one of the 'old guard'?

depends how u see it, only in the england team for 4 yrs less than gerrard/lamps and rio, and started around the same time as terry.

similar sort of number of caps between em all as well.

think rooney has had 3 tournaments to show what he can do, and hasn't really done much, but then similar could be said of ronaldo/messi.

still one of the best players we have, would be nicer if he could stay on the pitch for the whole match tho.

This Rooney has done nothing on the international stage, should retire and concentrate on his EPL career.
