Just a note to anyone who downloaded that whiterun outskirts market mod I linked. I've had to uninstall it after finding it gave me CTDs when entering certain areas. Not everyone has this problem though.

Try High Shadows preset but bear in mind that it will reduce the shadows distance by a fair margin.

In SkyrimPrefs.ini (found in "Documents/My Games/Skyrim") you should alter a few settings to increase the resolution and enable trees shadows:

bTreesReceiveShadows=1
bDrawLandShadows=1

iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
iShadowMapResolution=4096

iBlurDeferredShadowMask=3 - lower value = sharper but blockier shadows, higher value = softer but less defined shadows
fInteriorShadowDistance=3000.0000
fShadowDistance=4000.0000 or less - the lower the value, the higher quality of shadows but lower distance

where can i get the latest skse, just downloaded it from the skse site but in skyui keeps telling me it cant find it (yes its installed in the primary skyrim folder)

also,

how do i get far off landscape looking better, the near tiles look amazing, but it looks horrendous far off and some peeps on here have got that looking smart too

Also, launch the game with skse_loader.exe.

how do i get far off landscape looking better, the near tiles look amazing, but it looks horrendous far off and some peeps on here have got that looking smart too
