The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Sorry, how are people getting this to work now?* Steam update ruined everything so I’ve tried going back to two older TESV.exe’s and updated skse but now skse tells me to update Skyrim (but of course the updated Skyrim doesn’t work with skse and the mods)
*
Are people using an OLDER TESV.exe with the newest skse and mods?
*
On the verge of going vanilla but it would be hard to go back to that after some of the beautiful mods I’ve been using.* Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated?

It works fine it's something wrong on your end.

Update to the latest Skyrim 1.4.27.0 *NON BETA*.
Remove all d3d9.dll,d3d8.dll,skse_* files from the folder containing TESV.exe. Just this folder.
Validate the game cache from within the games Steam library properties.
Put all skse files from skse_1_04_13.7z in the same folder as TESV.exe.
Load Steam.
Double Click skse_loader.exe.

If this doesn't work, you are doing something wrong.

It's not the best idea to load out on mods on day one or follow some crappy guide. Get a feel for the game, browse some mods on skyrimnexus and steam workshop. Don't go mad and install loads of random, cool stuff that some guys on the internet recommended.

It's generally best to look for mods to fix things you dislike in the game. If you foresee that you will be going mad on the mod front you might want to install Nexus Mod Manager now rather than further down the line.

On the PC front if you find yourself getting annoyed with the terrible Xbox UI then you should look into SkyUI (requires SKSE). It's not required by any means but the default console centric UI can feel restrictive.

Apart from that it's generally best to look for mods to fix things you dislike in the game....

+1, this is good advice :D

Hello guys,

Am I missing something really simple? I keep getting the following message when trying to launch Skyrim:

"Your game version is NOT supported, supported patches: 1.3.10.0us"

I thought it was something to do with SKSE not being compatible with the latest Skyrim patch. But I have updated to the newest version but to no avail.

Any ideas? :)

De-activate your mods, including Script Dragon and SKSE. This is almost always caused by Script Dragon being out of date . Either that or you're running pirate Skyrim.

He MIGHT be using a pirate skyrim but most likely he's bugged it up somewhere, the pirate edition isn't the cause though..

Believe me :D

Well something has gone wrong. Uninstalled all my mods and SKSE and it works...
Install my mods, and it works.
Try to run it from SKSE so I can use SkyUI and NO!! :(
I get that message again.
