Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Met a girl on a dating site in 2010 and it was awesome, she was way out of my league but seemed to adore me, a few months past and things got better and better until one day she had to move back up north, around 6 hours from me, and things couldnt carry on. I wanted to keep things going but she didnt see the point, she met someone else pretty quickly and forgot me. I still miss her to this day, internet dating is a double edged sword. I met the girl of my dreams but lost her too. Not sure I agree with that saying of 'its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'.. Looking back, ignorance was bliss.
 
Don't know what happened tonight, I'm still in shock.
Been messaging a POF'r for a good week or so off and on.
Finally nailed down a date tonight and when she walked through the door I was like OMFG.
Out of my league, not a chance, stunner, punching above my weight etc etc..
We got on really well, talked for hours and left the pub just now..
I was just thinking "I better not text her tonight, way too keen"..
When she text me :D:D:D:D:D
Said she that it was nice and had a lovely evening..
WTF, how did I managed to pull that off!!. :D
 
Im talking to a girl and everything is way too good to be true, same interests, same food tastes, etc.... thing is my Ex girlfriend, was ******* about when we split up two years ago and pretended to be someone else on this POF...I think its her (again)...so i dont wanna fall for it...I think im paranoid... help :(

Women tend to like guys a lot based on their personality when talking to them online and then the looks are the deal breaker. You have to remember she is human dude so you shouldn't base everything based on her looks, plus she may think she's out of your league (does happen). Just be normal and dont act like a douche and you should be fine.

Depends how long you have spoken to her for, you could always suggest talking on the mic/phone and then go from there. How did you catch her out the first time?
 
I didn't catch her out, she created a fake email/MSN account and changed her MSN picture to me and her (with my face crossed out) while I was talking to her... I think I told the story in this thread..
 
I have only read the last 20 pages.

Have you used a different email address, pof profile?. Again try the mic/cam thing before you go further to make sure or drop them.
 
No problem, I can only help with the information I'm given. If you have spoken to her long just say you like her but you have been burned a lot buy guys pretending to be girls and you would like to take things further - or something like that.

As a side note I notice a lot of guys don't know what to do so I will try and help in this thread.
 
I was supposed to be meeting someone today but she text me to say she got battered last night and is hungover. This is after she cancelled on me on Tuesday to go out with friends. I told her to get lost. This is turning out to be a PITA.

Yeah I think I did the right thing, I've been single for 5 years now and she seemed ideal but obviously she isn't! I'm not sure if it's just an excuse because she's nervous or she did actually go out but either way I'm outta there.

Actually he did the wrong thing. All he had to do was be patient and hook up with her when she is free, tap her then leave.

By ending it shortly he missed a chance, and there was nothing stopping him looking for other girls in the process.
