I almost fell off my seat. I'm surprised someone else from here is on there.
Did anyone watch the undateables programme tonight? Quite intriguing... although it did make me think that if people who admit they have limited options are still really fussy, there's not much hope for the majority!
The girl dating the tourette's guy seemed lovely and really genuine btw so good luck to them.
I didn't want to watch that program, but somehow I ended up sitting there for the duration.
Are you referring to the girl with brittle bones? I suppose it was only her first date ever so she may expect more. But it is a bit hypocritical when she couldn't look past someones disability and then expect some 6 foot policeman to do just that.

Lol, all I would say is this bit "I would like to meet a female" seems a bit formal. Maybe using woman/lady/girl would make it sound softer.

Well I had several more dates with the girl I talked about last week, inc. spending the night a couple of times, then randomly she texts me after I leave a couple of mornings ago saying that she really enjoyed being with me but something wasn't "right"... She's now deleted her profile of of OK as well.
I may meet up with her again some time as she seems up for doing things together (a lot of stuff in common) but still makes no sense what just happened... Weird women...!
EDIT: Did anyone else, when they signed up to OKCupid, get a map of countries showing your best match locations? Interesting viewing... Mine showed the UK as the least likely place I could find someone to get together with... Would explain why over half of the girls I've got together with haven't been from the UK...

Just a note though, when I say got together with I mean met in ways other than internet dating.

Okay, when I last came to this thread it was near the beginning stages of it's creation. I have now returned here several years later, and people of GD are now on online dating sites and hooking up with people. I feel I've missed out greatly!
So quick summary for me please?

Met my fiance just over 3 years ago on Zoosk. Zoosk was a different beast then, it was free and integrated into Facebook so more of a laugh than a determined attempt to find a mate. Never the less it was internet dating and it worked.
My Fiance and I had a brief hiatus early last year, and having the internet dating bug I tried again(TBH I was ****ed up). Zoosk was pay as you go so a no go, Plenty of Fish yes, met a LOT of nice women on there. A few I met and had some real good fun with. One I met who really really made me feel great, even though I was in denial about my ex. She ended up getting hurt, I'm now back with my fiance and all is good.
Not the greatest story, but the bottom line is there are many people out there who want to find companionship, just a friend even. I was desperate when I split up with my ex, really really lost it, unfortunately for the ladies out there they found me sweet, and needed to nurture. They all had their place in making me feel better, but only one made me feel whole again. And I thank her for that. I hurt some really nice girls in order to fill the gap I was left when I split up with my fiance.
Internet dating, it works. If you know what you are doing it for. (I didn't).
EDIT>> And oh god, if you are pretty chatty. Get on the online chat of POF or others. I spent 2 hours talking to a random girl in Harlow one night, then we exchanged numbers, and had a ****ed gin/vodka infused conversation until 4am. A week later we met up and we felt like old friends we had spoken so much. Just broke the ice. I traveled 40 mins to Harlow in Essex and we went clubbing, met her friends had lots of drinks, spent the night together then had a huge fryup at her local greasy spoon. Was an epic night.
EDDIt>>> Jesus the memories, I was talking to and arranging a date with.. im not joking one of the hottest girls you have ever seen, Not fake as in 'this is chichi from London' , but I had spoken to her on the phone, had her on my FB all that. She even sent me a picture of her daughter as we had daughters in common. This girl was really hot.. though not my ex fiance so blahh...
Anyway My ex and I reconcile and all is peachy, then I get a text from above hot girl saying.. "Hows it going with that druggy girl you used to be with".
Yea you can guess who saw the message, anyway to cut things short, a flurry of texts and phone calls went between two with me having no control. What was a happy fun day turned into a dark **** day very quickly.... And things wernt so great with me either... 'Who is that ****', 'why are you talking about my/our life to her' blah blah..... It could just mean shes boring, lazy, talking to 1000's of other men! or unsuitable for what you are looking for, if you can weed out the ones like that before bothering dating them then its just as valuable as "getting a date", your replies do seem a bit rigid and forced though, almost like you are replying with a 101 things to ask a person in online dating manual.
i try not to asked "forced" questions - the where do you see yourself in 5 years cv like questioning, and try to keep it as a conversation, sure reveal a few bit and bobs about yourself, show an interest, and definitely banter never hurts. And squeeze in a few compliments, all women love them, just use them subtely they will still see them
oh and im single again after 6 months it got a bit grey towards the end
and i should add that some girls are just rubbish at online converastion, if thats the case and they look potentially nice, skip the chat part and ask them out quicker

But you have to ask these things to find out about the person, I was trying to get a conversation going, anything just to see what she does and likes to talk about so I could respond with a more humorous reply. But I guess she may well be the boring type, when it's right it's right the conversation just flows.

How's everyone getting on?
Been with mine I met on POF over a month now and everythings going superb couldn't be more happier with how things have turned out, went back home to Yorkshire over the weekend and met up with all my family which went really well.
