Internet Dating.....Who Has Done it?!

Not sure about the whole internet thing, but here's my profile anyway.

Hey,

Bit skeptical about the whole internet dating thing but haven't had the best of luck meeting people who share the same interests so I thought I would give this a shot!

I'm currently at uni studying computer science. Don't worry, I'm only a little bit of a geek! (maybe...) :)
I think I'm pretty down to earth and enjoy being with friends, but I'm quite quiet around new people. I'm honest and kind, and generally just a calm person.

I really enjoy sports so you'll usually find me doing something a few times a week, be it badminton, basketball, gym.
When the temperature drops and snow falls, I WILL be up in the snowy mountains carving it up! Haven't been skiing too many times but definitely one of the best sports there is!

Love to dance, mainly hip-hop and breakdance, but wouldn't say no to a salsa class!

On the more passive side to me, I enjoy photography, watching musicals/comedy in theatre, watching movies/going to the cinema, spending time cooking, or playing the piano/guitar.

When it comes to a night out, it's usually to a club. I never really go to pubs/gigs. I listen to varied genres of music, but when clubbing I usually go for something dubstep/dnb or pop/commercial.


Anything I should change?

The impression I got is that you have been single for 5 years and wanted a night off from Jill, and instead of seeing this lady as a potential girlfriend you just meet her the once when it's good for you, "smash" (as you say it) her then don't bother with her again.

The impression I got from his previous posts is that Jill is twice(x10^9000) the woman the selfish brat that failed to give a toss can barely measure up against. If he wanted to plug his stick in a privy, he would but clearly he doesn't... :p
 
How long do you guys tend to message a girl before asking them out on a date.

we've sent each other about 7 messages each since last night. How long before I should go in for the kill haha.

Depends on the person you're talking to really, I tend to be pretty forward and find talking online to a complete stranger a bit awkward, whereas in person, I can talk for days on end :p

I also think if you leave the online chatting too long, it just fizzles out and leads to nothing, so I'd probably say after a couple of days if conversation is flowing online, then go for it and ask her out for drink. ;)

Just re-joined POF aswell, so here's hoping I get a few dates in person!
 
that's what I was thinking, don't want it to fizzle out by dragging it out too long... Well she's just asked me if I like food, here's my chance to ask her out to dinner haha. :)
 
The Girl I met on POF that went a bit wayward is back on and In the last few weeks I spent a good few nights at hers and it seems to be working out really well.. there is hope!
 
Just wanna ask a quick question, on POF, if I send a quick message, will it just add a generic title, with "Hi" or something? I send all my messages as quick ones, and if what I think is the case, then I've made a big mistake and probably get ignored by loads with a generic title! :eek:

Yeah, if they read it, but I know the better looking gals out there get swamped with messages, with most of them messages being guys just looking for sex, so if its got a really generic title, then I'd imagine a girl would delete the message without reading it as she'd assume it was just another guy looking for sex...
 
Meh this is getting boring, i send out a fair few messages at the start of the week, and by the end of it, i have no replies from the women i send messages to, BUT i have loads from other women that send me a message and then dont reply when i reply to them, Also ive seen a fair few Fake profiles on POF, one of which is claiming to be a woman of 21 and lives in manchester, but the pictures are of a canadian porn star lol very odd people around.
Anyways im either too bland for these people, or they are so far up their own arses for their own good.
 
Glad the one I met looks stunning in real life but online pics aren't all that.. :D
She wants to meet again next weekend :cool: :D

the real question is did you know the Canadian pornstar or did you have to image search and who was it so we can spot for fakes in the future.

I seriously tempted to try this as the nearest thing to women I meet in work are fat old blokes with man boobs that like to walk around the changing room naked..... "shudder"....:(

I think I have to get my self together first, as I doubt I have anything to offer a girl.
 
No i didnt image search, i knew as soon as i saw it, reported it to POF as soon as realised and its been deleted as far as i can tell, but im sure there are plenty more out there, Example ex BF's making their ex's profiles with the pictures they have etc, some of them you can tell a mile off thats something isnt right.

The problem is you get males pretending to be females to wind up their exes using their pictures.

You also get fat big girls pretending to be nice girls too. I don't know why people do it but they do.

This is the trick I think I'm missing....I set my standards fairly high, and tend to not message a girl even if she's alright looking! :rolleyes:
