Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

Does anybody know:

If you buy/sell a Gainward GPU second hand, is the warranty still valid?

Gainward's warranty statement only mentions that the retailer (I assume original) needs to handle the RMA and you should ideally have proof of purchase. But do you need to be the original owner?

Only the original purchaser is 100% covered. After that it's ambiguous. I'd sugest buying from a person who intends to help out with RMA's

Thanks very much for this list specially now since Im shopping for a graphics card...and XFX is in my top 5! Great to know that OcUk will help with warranty!

On another note - are XFX any good when it comes to reliability etc? Ive never used cards from them before. If any of you guys on here have used them a long time would be cool to read your take on them!..thanks

Ive always had PowerColor ones and Im here to say that I have never ever had a problem with them. They have performed flawlessly. My current card is PowerColor.

Ahh ok! Im restricted to the length of the card (has to be 265mm or lower) so Im shortlisting any card that fits those specs. But thank goodness I waited because this warranty list is a wakeup call and now Ive got my work cut out for me lol. Good warranty and 265mm or below to fit!

Initially I was going to go for HD7850 but Ive decided I want HD7950 as I could really do with the extra pixel-pushing power.

Length of the card has to be 265mm or smaller because of case-restriction. This is the first criteria I look at and the XFX Double D satisfies the length!

I mostly play these games on Eyefinity (see sig for rez) and also my PC is hooked up to a 37" HDTV. I game on the latter with an Xbox controller.

I play these games and I want improvement in their performance:

1. Skyrim. Heavily modded and my card struggles a bit with it but its playable
2. FSX Acceleration. Also heavily modded and my system REALLY struggles with this on Eyefinity. But silky smooth performance on the HDTV
3. Fallout 3 - also modded heavily, some pausing in-game but not bad
4. Metro 2033...system struggles a lot

I also wanna get Crysis2 and Fallout NV.

Basically I want smooth gaming performance in Eyefinity

@Katana - sorry, haven't seen this thread for a while. If you're into FSX, then an Nvidia card would be better for you (but you'll need two for three screens).

The 7850 is by far your best choice for your budget. Nvidia mid range cards trnd to be very short.

I'd get MSI/Gigabyte card fr the excellent CS

They do, but i didn't mention that as they're £400+ cards and Katana's looking at a £200 card

Won't be faster. Easier... maybe?

Cheaper, yes, but £15 is worth it IMO for about a week less waiting. In my experience, OcUK aren't massively fast when it comes to dealing with RMA's

This is on par with Gigabyte. Gigabyte took a few days to declare the card faulty, they then tried to fix it. EVGA send a replacement straight away regardless, as long as the RMA to them arrives intact.

Monday would seem unlikely as it's a Bank Holiday.

dammit!

By tomorrow, the card might be at my local depot so i'll see if I can collect it then
