Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

Anyone know what MSI's warranty was before it was put to 3 years? I remember seeing a thread, I think it was 1st January 2011 that they increased it to 3 years. I bought an MSI card that's broken on 26th December 2010. So hopefully it was at 2 years and not 1. :(

My timing in purchases is impeccable!

I haven't heard a peep about my RMA since it was sent by OC on to Sapphire on the 7th April! :(

Oh great, now I am worried. Might have to DSR the sapphire and order a HIS then, last thing I want is to be without a gpu for a month. Any mods got some input on this?

In the warenty thread one of the mods or something said any that are dealt with ocuk should only take 3 to 5 days. Can anyone at ocuk confirm this? Looks like I'll have to return the sapphire, argh!

Try giving OcUK a nudge via the CS section of the forum, a webnote, or a telephone call :)

Good point...I forgot about that :(

It's due on Wednesday :D

don't bother mate. My his RMA took over 28 days despite promises it should only take a week

If you are going to DSR the sapphire, get an MSI/GIgabyte, then it would be worth it.

Well I've sent my GPU on wednesday and OC said they sent it to the manufacturer which are VTX3D/Powercooler. hope they sort it out and give me a better replacement. it only lasted about 6 months :(.

This is very disappointing, I wouldn't expect to have to wait for a month if they state 3 - 5 days in this thread. :(

I wouldn't expect any help from either, most likely OcUK will end up replacing that after 28 days.

That's a shame to read about the pita RMA with a VTX.

I bought a card sold as an OcUK assuming the warranty would be through them and received a VTX. They even advertise the product as a plain unbranded card and to top it off the VTX was £6 cheaper!

Not being funny but if you buy cheap then what do you expect? A silver service? I think if your buying budget video cards then you should expect budget customer care.

Hardly.

Key me put this in An analogy.

EVGA, Gugabyte etc = Mercedes, jaguar...
Horribly expensive but you pay a lot for quality products and top notch CS

VTX,XFX,HIS= Toyota
You still pay a lot fr their products and they have some good stuff, but their CS service isn't quite as good but you still get everything dice in a timely manner.

With these budget brands, you may not be paying as much as the best rands, but youre still paying a lot for the product. If I buy a Toyota, I expect any problems to be fixed within 2 weeks, whereas. If its a jag, I expect a few days.

A certain number of OcUK competitors are currently in the process of replacing cards from stock once declared faulty, OcUK ought I do the same.

Whats MSI e-mail to RMA a Graphics Card? Sent a webnote to here was told to contact MSI?

Fault is green flickering HDMI port R6970 Lightning once game is loading desktop OK, DVI OK other HDMI OK in other CF card?.

I would start a web note from their customer service page, tell them the retailer told you to contact them regarding returning the card. Give them as much info as you can.

MSI warranties should be dealt with by the retailer.

They have an agreement to that effect with their major re-sellers.

Mine is still in the 28 day period between OCuk and Sapphire so nothing doing yet. As it is an EoL card they are having trouble finding a replacement. The Sapphire support guy I ticketed when it first went kaput (and who directed me to retailer) said that if they couldn't replace like for like they would provide an upgrade, but they've scrubbed my ticket history now :(

I believe you can get a refund from OcUK on your card if it's within 28 days.
