one qualification however that I am only in Nightmare III with my DH so I accept I don't know yet what is to come, but I'd like to understand.

You need to use it with the lingering fog rune and tactical advantage passive skill to get the most out of it.

Vault is a lot cheaper but you can be hit while vaulting - in inferno that's generally death. In SS you are 100%* invulnerable and can break out of freeze, the jailor effect and other immobilising stuff

I use +20 discipline bonus gear and seems i can kite everything but the 'fast teleportor' indefinately

SS with lingering fog
preperation - backup plan or invigoration(battle scars handy vs reflect)
vault - acrobatics rune
caltrop - jagged spikes

*The trail of fire some elites leave behind will kill you in SS. Think there may be one or two others

That said i don't think SS is really necesary until inferno
 
It's odd really, I wonder if Blizzard will do something to Warcry. Whilst it's certainly not overpowered, I very much doubt you'll find any Inferno barbs running without it...

Finished hell on my barb today and started inferno and the leap in difficulty is astounding - i was fine in act IV hell, yet get almost one shotted by normal mobs - champion packs i have a snowballs chance in hell of killing.

Oh goody... not far off completing hell on my barb and have about 300k to "boost" me into inferno - somehow doubt its going to get me far :D Assume you only start inferno as a level 60?
 
Lol, just had my first green item. Tal Rasha's Guardianship. Its so ****. High all res, high +armour, good attack speed, some magic find.... and no stats at all.

Best part, was it from a champ? Was it from an act boss? No, it was from a dead guardsman in the Cave of the Betrayer...

On a side note, how much did they **** up the damage on spiderlings? I take 20-25k from Lacuni Huntresses, yet a tiny ****ing spider hits me for 40k+.

Chest still work at least 500k, people have a huge boner for the attack speed and all resists, even though a level 50 rare is probably better. Know what you mean about the little mobs, frogs in Act 1 were the same I found :/
 
Downloaded the mac client for this so I can get a few hours in whilst I'm away over the next week. Can't for the life of me get the game to work though...
Enter password, message displays saying there's an update and the game will restart automatically. Game restarts. *repeat ad infinitum

Anyone had this issue before?

Edit: Oh, say it aint so.
Possibly using the US client. Sigh. Off to download the 7.5gb again... :(

A1 is a farce, it's not comparable to A2 in any way whatsoever. :p A1 > A2 Inferno is the biggest difficulty jump in the game, it's pretty strange.

Patch notes say A1 is the correct difficulty, and they're reducing the rest in line with it.
 
Just done act1 of Hell in 5 hours, really enjoying, act2 seems easy enough! Going to leave that for tomorrow though :)

No, there isn't a 'correct' diffculty, there is meant to be a ramp up going from act to act. The patch will merely lower Act 2 to be more of a mid point between 1 and 3, atm it's so close to 3 that it creates a gigantic gear gap required to be able to deal with it coming fresh faced out of Act 1. Whilst they'll be lowering all I can't see them doing that much to 3 and 4 because Act 3's difficulty is fine coming from the sort of gear needed for 2.
