*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Just use 2A tablet chargers if you want to speed it up. Battery will get warmer though.

2A x 5V = 10Whr

Mines the same with poweramp if i do anything else at the same time that has sound the volume goes crazy and also all the sound distorts massively. I'm probably just going to go back to using the stock music player

:( yeo seems to be a power amp issue which is a shame as I like the tweaks on poweramp compared to the stock one. Hopefully they will fix that issue.

The length of time it takes for this phone to charge is just outrageous.

Indeed, stupidly long charging times from ac power and even more longer from a pc lol.

Here's a screenshot of my first full battery test with the One X. Not too bad, though I did not check what the screen time was. I suspect around 4 hours, but I'm not certain.

Either way, it's better than I was expecting.

Slightly OT, but I've written about my reasons for giving the One X, and Android, another go after owning iPhones previously. I'll be updating it in a week's time with another post, too. Linkage here.

Just thought it may be interesting for those that seem think people aren't allowed to like both iOS and Android!

maybe u dont have anything synced?

i have two gmail accounts auto synced plys facebook and twiter. depends on usage mate.

i also usually have my wifi and/or 3g connection on most of the time. 12 hours and its dead for me

It has little to do with sync and everything to do with screen time.

Have to chip in here and say that I am, on the whole, happy with battery life.
Running the latest stock firmware (1.29.401.11) on unlocked HT24 (Taiwan) batch handset....

I find that I get a decent day of use out of the phone always; throughout the day, I guess this amounts to - on average - about 1 hour of screen time, 10 mins of calls, regular email retrieves, browsing and syncing of all sorts (Twitter, Facebook, Pulse, Google+, Currents and so on.....). Add in the evening/after work use of approx another hour of screen on time, including YouTube/Slingplayer (emergency football watching when all other TVs in the place are in use  ) and so on, and I still have around 30-40% battery....I never turn WiFi off (use it at home, not during the day where everything is H/3G) and GPS is available at all times (meaning I don't turn it off), and Auto-Brightness works well for me.

I have the phone plugged in on a slow charge overnight, everynight (using a 500ma charger, rather than the supplied one) and it comes off charge between 6.30 and 7am each day, then goes back on around midnight.

For me, this sounds perfectly acceptable battery life :)

jonney's right - if the phone is kept awake a lot because of a lot of syncing - batterylife takes a big hit. See the area where the wifi is off - hardly any drain.

I know it being kept awake is bad, but it's hard to know if it is that with no mention of screen time.

Something is definitely wrong with his phone, with that sort of usage I'd get roughly 3 hours screen on time (with auto brightness).

I know that, but that was a while ago and I can't remember everyone's posts... :p

Anyway, if you haven't already, reset your phone and just trying using it with no modifications and see how it goes. If it's still bad then get HTC to fix it.

Three Gmail accounts all pushing mail, calendars and contacts. Yammer, Twitter, Google+ and Facebook all pushing notifications. Screen on auto brightness, WiFi always on etc.
