***Official GTX 670 thread***

maybe you have very sensitive ears? I can't hear the card at all over my case fans. You should try a reference 670, it's unbearable in my opinion.

you must have really sensitive ears. Reference 670 is much more quiet than a 480 for example . For those who focus on gaming rather than other things (such as noise/temps), they can easily put up with a 480. Besides, speaker noise can easily drown the noise out especially of a 670 which is already pretty quiet anyway.

I think that's because you (we) have two. If it's a single one I'm sure the fan would never need to get near 40%.

For the record I think they become audible at 43%.

Personally I can't hear the fans clearly until they are 50% or higher. I can just about here them at 48% but they haven't even got that high when I'm gaming so it doesn't matter. Think I might try overclocking 2moro. What's the best way to test if an oc is stable or not? Heaven?

Haven't heard a 480 so I can't compare the two. I do have sensitive-ish ears. But for me the 670 made this annoying buzzing noise which I think was the motor in the fan or something. Even at idle I could still hear it faintly. It was doing my head in. Whereas with the gigabyte, even when the fans are audible it's more a wooshing airflow sound wish is bearable.

Out of interest what should be the max power limit setting I should be able to get? Windforce 3x gtx670

edit - just found out its 111%

Yes exactly what I found.

Colours arent as vibrant or bright. However what you do get with Nvidia, is tighter developer integration and higher quality drivers.

I feel like for a desktop machine, I buy AMD gpu's for the better colours and for a purely gaming computer, it has to be Nvidia.

I have a hardware monitor colorimeter, there's no difference at all between AMD and Nvidia colours, my calibrated monitor gave the same result before and after I switched from a 5870 to a 670.

It's amazing what placebo can do.

This thread backs me up too.

Hey guys, I have the ASUS 670 TOP edition but deciding whether to send back my BenQ XL2420T 120hz(as there is a problem with it) and find a good quality 60hz, or just get a replacement?

Saying this here as whether is 120hz is needed on ONE 670.

Hi there

KFA2 670 standard now only £299.99 Inc vat!
KFA2 670 EX OC which uses a full GTX 680 PCB with better power regulation and superior yet quieter cooler just £329.99 Inc vat!

Plus KFA2 use the BFG support centre so excellent service or OcUK will cover too. :)

Would the EX OC edition fit in my Coolmaster 690 II case...?

Thanks :)

Also would that card be "better" than the ...

EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

I can't make my mind up which to buy. But I don't want a noisy card, being used to my Gigabyte 460GTX which is quite quiet.

If I ordered today would it be Tuesday before I got delivery...?

Well, my windforces do +125 core and +600 memory.

That makes one card 1300 and the other 1250.

Not really tried pushing mem further, and core +150 crashes.

Probably still just run them at stock. Just wanted to see what they would do.

The KFA2 is a better card. Proper length PCB (EVGA card quoted has the cheapo, short version), better cooler (EVGA card quoted has the cheapo, nasty version) so the KFA2 will be quieter, and overclocked out of the box.

Lastly, the KFA2 has a snazzy LED, so win, win all the way. ;)

Doesn't seem to matter what I do with fans, can not get the top card to keep from reaching 77/78 under continued load. Gigabyte windforce, that is.

Powerful side fan blowing in or out, does not matter.

Also have powerful bottom fan blowing up from bottom.

The coolers may be good individually, but were not designed for sli configs...

Even the 7950 CDU II's I could get to cool to similar levels, though I had to remove the shroud.

Wonder, can I remove the shroud easily from these?

Mine are made in China and both do 1176MHz out of the box. Can seem to push them to 1246MHz but drivers seem to crash randomly which also happens at 1176...so it's kinda hard to tell if it's hardware or software failing.

Anyone know how to get and read crash reports?

Just noticed that mine say "PCB made in China" on the PCB back but it also says "Made in Taiwan" on the box.
A possible source of confusion.

KFA is our no.1 selling brand on 670 followed by Gigabyte. Both use custom 680 PCBs with far better power regulation. Plus far superior coolers!

Gibbo do KFA have the same kind of policy as Gigabyte? That if you return the card w/ the original cooler and in as good condition as possible they MAY replace it for you? (that is changing the fans for WC blocks then changing back to the stock)

Have ordered an MSI 670 Power Edition for this week hopefully, it was that or the gigabyte, 50/50 choice, although thinking about it now I should have gone gigabyte for the UK RMA base.

I love my KFA2 670 OC. Runs everything without any issues. However the only thing that really bugs me about it is the coilwhine! But TBH i have kinda got use to the noise

Excellent card and coming from a 470 SLI setup it has blown me away what one card can do!

Do you think that the coil whine is unique to your card and not a common problem, as such..?
Why did you not exchange it if it bothers you?
