Very surprising win that, especially due to that lead the US had after Phelps leg.

I thought the final american slightly let his side down, he didn't appear to be as fast as his teammates and didn't really seem to maintain the same gap ahead of the pack, letting the french catch up.

Womens 100m final backstroke.

Missy Franklin swimming again just after competing in the 200m semi final a few mins ago :eek:

Gemma Spofforth swimming, world record holder. But favourite is Seebohm i think.

Missy Franklin wins, amazing seeing as she just did the 200m freestyle 15 mins earlier and comes back to win the 100m backstroke final.

Spofforth unfortunately ends up 5th.

Fair play to Spofforth though, decent swim that. Reading up on her last couple of years, it's a pretty damn good comeback.

Indeed and shes only flippin 17 yrs old :eek:

so i imagine we will see plenty of her in the future.

And a decent swim from Spofforth especially after her turbulent couple of yrs so decent comeback from her.
