Apple vs Samsung, court orders Samsung to show Apple 5 new phones

There are a large number of people waiting for the next iphone. Not because it will be the best phone, not because they like the design or because its the cheapest.

They all want one because its the new iphone. Its a fashion accessory. The thing could be a complete piece of junk but they'll still want it for bragging rights.

This sort of person are only helped by the trash that Apple talk.. "retina display" is just a marketing term, it means nothing.

The really interesting thing I find about the idevice aficionados is that they can't actually tell you why their chosen devices are better..
On my android phone I can demonstrate sending of a file via bluetooth, or some other piece of functionality that isn't possible on an iphone.
The idevice fans can only throw criticism "hah! Android, its sooo laggy and slow, you should get an iphone!"

I don't see this changing when the next iphone appears.

This is pretty telling imho.

Haha so you have to hold it further away even though its still supposed to be a phone? I know they look cumbersome but that's ridiculous.

In other news Samsung still not learnt their lesson:

Attempts at decent Apple style marketing fail spectacularly though:

:D

The S dock is no different then HP's quick launch bar, Toshiba's version of the dock bar.

Samsungs video fail as bad as Apples videos too.

If you don't like the color who cares, Better than black or white.

Why does it need to be 'better'? I mean, it really depends on how you define better doesn't it?

For many people the premium feel, smaller size and App store/integration with other Apple devices are far more important than having the fastest CPU or being able to send a file over bluetooth (a fuction I've used precisely zero times on my One S).

They can't tell you it's better because your definition varies from theirs, so it's pointless trying to argue about it.

I've literally never been told that by anyone with an iPhone. Never. Not once, I've never said it when I had one either.

Although with certain devices and iterations of Android they would have a point, it's only since ICS that it became really nice to use.

It's just an easier way of explaining to your average consumer that the consumer that it has a crisp display I thought

apple change the definition of 'retina' to fit the ipad 3, it use to be just about the dpi of the screen. it wasnt until the retina ipad that apple decided we hold these devices at different lengths - i dont know anybody who does tbh.

Do people seriously hold tablets as close to their faces as phones??!!

Maybe with low res generic tablets you have?

Anyway saying a 720p screen on a 5" device is leading edge tech is just laughable.

I'm guessing he loaded hundreds of apps onto it, left them strewn across the screens and wondered why it was running slow :o I got my iPhone in May and since that time I've not noticed any slowdown.

I have an iPod touch and an ipad3 and the wife has an ipad2 and they do lag and stutter. We only have a handful of apps on each.

I'm intrigued to why this is. Wonder if its something to do with how people manage devices. Not to say that you're doing something wrong, but I've honestly not had any sort of lag/stutter on my iPhone or iPad. Admittedly I did on my original iPad but that was most likely due to it only having 256MB RAM.

Its a way of saying that your eye cannot distinguish individual pixels at normal viewing distance.

'Normal' of course being different for phones, tablets and laptops - unless of course you are short sighted as some seem to be on here. :D

So the new iPhone 5 will have a retina resolution - I wander if Samsung will ever manage it in their phones or tablets? Given they make the screens it does seem odd but I suspect they struggle keeping the case size down and the battery life up - hence why the S3 looks like that.

Ok, so maybe I should phrase it this way:
I've never had an Apple fan point out an advantage of their chosen device, even if the advantage is subjective, e.g.

"My iphone can do .... that your android phone can't"

if the .... is irrelevant to me or otherwise.

Very interesting interview.

Lays to rest (well probably not) that they just skipped stuff. Rather they just didn't do it in order and did the easy patents/choices first.

I also didn't realize as they ruled willfulness that wasnt included ithe damages, it's now down to a judge to sentence and it's upto 3 timethe damages

Also interesting that google told Samsung to move further apart from the iPad. That document would be interesting to read.

I wouldn't phrase it like that, I'd say I hold my phone as far away as I do a tablet. That is 35-45 CM or so, any further and I'd be stretching my arm out which would be silly/uncomfortable.

Maybe with low res generic tablets you have?

Eh? Surely you would hold something that's low res further away to make it appear sharper?

Anyway saying a 720p screen on a 5" device is leading edge tech is just laughable.

4.8, and currently it's the highest resolution on any device of that size so yeah, it's leading edge.

I like Apple and I like Apple products, but you're really not helping the case against Apple fanboys.

Do you still not understand though, there is no real argument here, just two alternatives. Why can't people prefer one over the other?

That's to simple, you must have an irrational hatred of apple.

And where's all these crackpot apple fan boys they keep happening on about? Must be in their minds.
