*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Probably but if you can afford to be without the cash for a few days then pay using paypal and you're all covered when it doesn't show up.

if its like it was last time I tried to claim if the recipient has emptied the account there's no refund, paypal don't cover it they agree to get the funds BACK. Big difference.

Stock photo, unbelievable price (too good to miss is a basic tactic), totally unrelated low value feedback (ie not for selling tablets etc) means AVOID. Seriously, I'll bet you £10 thats a scam.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Either way a guarantee of getting your own money back at some unspecified point in the future after you KNOW you're going to be ripped off because there's no financial way the deal you're getting makes sense other than the ebay seller has started up the worlds oddest charity seems like a strange way to manage your finances to me.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, im not going to read through all the posts to check!

For people having trouble finding connected USB Drives on the nexus menu, there's always the media importer app specially made for the Nexus 7 allowing you to connect SD cards or memory sticks without rooting first.

I have this and an OTG cable and it works perfectly. Its read only, but it passes the 'just works' test and doesn't need root.

Soo, my N7 speaker packed up last week. Heard a pop and that was it, no sound. Fair play to the buyer of ecstasy, they picked it up and returned a new one to me in under a week. Though I did chuckle at part of an email they sent..."after exhaustive testing, we can confirm the product is faulty".

So after being Nexless for a few days, pensively checked my new one yesterday and phew! No screen lift, no dead pixels and the out of box volume is better than my original. Happy days.

Thanks, although maybe I should have used my eyes and realised that that deal was posted on her yesterday

Ok, my finger is hovering over the buy button - but I'm struggling to actually justify the purchase to myself. I have an old ipad which I'll be selling on to a friend soon, and I have an oldish but still decent Android phone (Desire S running ICS).

Sell this tablet to me!

Don't wait too long, Google are ending the £15 offer on 30/9. Oh, and it's a brilliant device. ;)

Yeah, I was about to mention this as well. Lol.

As for my OTG query, I finally found where the USB stick was hiding in ES File Explorer. Thanks for the assists chaps :)

Hmm, so it looks like there is actually 2 different styles of tablet UI for Android. One with the notification bar at the top and the 3 soft buttons in the middle at the bottom, and another where its all at the bottom with notifications on the bottom right and the soft buttons bottom left.

Apex launcher on my 7 is using the 1st setup, which is like a phone setup. Is there any way to force it to the 2nd setup with everything on the bottom? Is this a 10" tablet only thing or an ICS thing?

Just bought myself one of these today, was a little apprehensive at first as I ditched my android phone for an iPhone and thought I would feel the same with this, but gave it a punt and have to say I'm loving it so far =] I haven't had any issues with the different UI types so far... but then I've only had it for about 4 hours! No screen splitting' graphics issues or build problems either. Defo a winner for £200
