***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

So for everyone saying they want the LTE version and specifically calling out the 2gb of RAM, is there any evidence anywhere of real world usage that would be impacted at all by having more RAM?

Or is it simply that 2 is a bigger number than 1 so it must be better?

Having 2GB RAM will mean that a lot more apps will remain in memory and therefore will reduce the need to start them from fresh. Less CPU usage and faster loading apps..

2GB RAM will make very little everyday difference IMHO. So an app may load about a 1 second faster as it starts from "hot" rather than cold.... I suppose anyone that lives their life via benchmarks can enhance their e-peen but to most folk? No biggie.

I've never done android before, so with ota updates will I have a notification pop up or do I have to keep checking,

Does kies also hold carrier specific updates too or just unlocked international fw

Samsung sync was using a fair bit of battery on Thursday so I disabled it and ended up going from Friday morning to now on one charge. :D

As said it's nice to have 2GB but it's not a massive difference when you have a device as fast as an stock S3.

You can set it to auto notify - kies holds all the updates

Is there a way to listen to a video on youtube when the app is closed/screen off?

Can do this on iPhones, got to be able to on android - surely!

Whoever said the 9th needs a slap I think!
Although it's only half 8 so there's still a chance it could come today lol.
